More convincing evidence that MOST mustang drivers are dumb

So I'm cruising along today and I pass a red mustang 5.0 at a pretty good pace. We're on a two lane road...and I passed him on the left. I slow down for the car in front of me...as I can't go into the right lane becuase there is a little construction up ahead...blocking the right lane with rubber cones. So I check my mirror...and to my suprise..the Mustang is traveling at a high rate of speed in the right lane that will soon be ending. I think to myself...he's not really going to try and shoot that gap. Sure enough...he did...he actually got in front of the car in front of me without hitting any cones....he was probably feeling pretty good about himself right until the point where his rear end came out because he changed lanes too fast. He proceeded to overcorrect and swing his rear end the other way....and then to top it off, his final mistake was to OVERCORRECT again in the opposite direction which sent his car's rear end around to the left...and sent him hurdling toward the curb...which he hit on a 45 degree angle...bouncing him over the curb..and into a grassy hill...where his trip came to an abrupt hault. He then proceeded to bang on the steering wheel a few times, back up..and take off like nothing had happend.... with his front bumper broken in half...and mud and grass all over his radiator. My friends and I noticed that he had left us a little present in the grass; his front licence plate. Being the good samaritian that I am...I picked up the license plate and turned it into the local police to make sure it could get safely back to it's righful owner....

This all happend in broad daylight on dry pavement with LOTS of other cars around...he's lucky he didn't hit and hurt someone.

And while you're talking to the police, did you tell them to check up on maxima.org re: all the street racing posts (since you're a good citizen and all), and also mention that your handle is briguymax.

Also, based on your criteria of determining the "dumbness" of an entire group of car owners, you will agree with me that based on the following threads,

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....threadid=81542
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....threadid=80500

that there is more convincing evidence that MOST maxima drivers are dumb.

Bri, I would assume that it was prolly a newer 'stang...prolly a younger driver. I knew a guy who just bought a brand new '99 'stang GT and took a right turn with too much gas and completely totaled it b/c he threw the tail right into on coming traffic. Most are inexperienced with rear wheel drive cars and inexperienced with driving all together.

Dude...get a life. I was simply pointing out that in my experience a MUCH higher percentage of Mustang drivers are dumb....NOT all of them...but it's just been my observation. This was NOT the only incident in which I have observed mustang drivers acting like complete morons, so it's not the only criteria that I'm using for my conclusion. So what if there are dumb maxima drivers too...I haven't heard of any of them pulling a stunt like that. Furthermore, I was NOT street racing at the time..there were LOTS of other cars on the road and that could be very dangerous.

If you don't know how to drive your car.....don't drive it fast.

Dude, you don't have to explain anything to anyone on this board. Don't even acknowledge this. Something I am starting to do more often now. Some people will be dumb and you can't help them.

It was actually an older foxbody 5.0, and it was a relatively young driver...maybe early 20s, and his loss of control had to do with changing lanes too fast...and probably cr@ppy tires...he wasn't on the gas at all when he lost control...I will agree that he was inexperienced in driving all together...

Your experience is that a much higher percentage of mustang drivers are dumb? oh really. for every example you give of a dumb mustang driver, i'll show you two examples of dumb maxima drivers, all from postings on this board no less. again, if you want to start labeling a group of drivers, start with your own species.

I wonder if we lined up all the Mustang owners and all the Maxima owners, who would have the better driving record? Just a thought.

Oh and my story. I was approaching a light when a Mustang GT was just taking off from a light in the opposite direction. He floored the thing and promply 180'ed the car, hopped the sidwalk and murdered a small tree with his rear bumper. I didn't know to laugh or what? I got out and asked if he was okay. He was more embarassed than anything.

This and the orignal poster's experiences probably would not happen to maximas just for the fact that FWDs are alot more forgiving.

He prolly got embarressed and his car was messed up no reason to try and make his day any worse... I sure hope no one ever trys to get me in trouble...

What's more not cool is him driving like a jacka$$. There are too many people that drive with zero consideration for others. What if he judged wrong the other way and smacked into the car behind him? What kind of royal pain in the butt would he have caused that person? I'd like to see people like this have the license taken away for awhile. Then maybe they would realize how stupid they've been.

I think we can end this conversation about who is dumber, it's not really constructive and we all know that there are dumb people out there. Hell, I think the dumb ones outnumber the smart ones, but that's personal opinion. Yes, there are dumb Mustang owners, yes there are dumb Maxima owners. Just like there are dumb caviler, saturn, camaro, Firebird, minivan etc. owners, people are just in general dumb these days. Must be something in the water.

WHO CARES ABOUT HIS CAR???
People like him cause accidents and cause people to die. If I see a dumb **** driving like that stang owner did, I always have a pad, a pen and a cell phone. Don't focking try to play tough with me cause you'll see flashing lights behind you pretty soon. Dumb people should be tought a lesson...you can guess who the teacher is.

noooowwwww.... paint me purple and call me a rasberry buuuuutttt I think Maximus is right, not to say Maxima drivers are retarded but we do alot of crazy shiet with our cars too, but generally our cars are more forgiving than the RWD rustangs.
and when I read the first post about the mustang I was and then when I read the second post, I was even harder.. I found it funny, because I think its more right to say young inexperienced drivers tend to be more retarded than other drivers, regardless of what car they drive, If they have a slow car, they try to drive it fast and crazy to make up for thier shietvics inherent disabilities, and then you have the young kids with FAST cars, who just dont seem to realize that when they drive fast, they have to be good drivers, and a good driver would not speed in situations that they speed in.

well thank you all and have a nice day

BriGuyMax,
I agree with you to an extent about mustang drivers. I'm a diehard import fan, always have been and always will be. On top of that, I hate american cars, with the main focus of my hate being the Mustang GT, Mustang LX, Corvette and Camaro and Pontiacs (any trim levels)....theres something about engines of such massive proportions with such (proportional to engine sizeweak HP/TQ numbers that unsettling. Don't get me wrong, the GT, the Z06, the Z28 and the GTP are all very fast cars, but the fact that they could be SOOOOO much faster just hurts.
I practically cry everytime I see a GTP, think about the 3.8 Litre Supercharged V-6 thats only producing 240 HP while Nissan (gotta love em ) and their 3.5 Litre VQ can do 255 and possibly even 280 (350Z) (naturally aspirated too)....something's just not right...
Another mustang driver cut off my friend in his camry, he was in the left lane and the mustang driver cut him off while the road was curving to the right. The mustang abruptly met the median, but the guy was okay.
Another friend of mine had a 89 Mustang 5.0, but the day he graduated from high school, he sold his mustang and promptly bought a max. Maybe it was all those days of me nagging him about a 5.0 litre engine that produced so little

If I may have said anything of controversial nature, pleaes disregard it. No flames please

Dumb and Dumber. In case anyone hasn't noticed, most drivers of ANY car are dumb. Unless of course you are one of the dumb ones, in which case other drivers tend to look smarter...
