EGR means exhaust gas recirculation. The one on my 96 is located on the right side of the motor, below and forward of the throttle body. It is the flying saucer type. They don't need to be replaced unless defective. If it is defective you will notice your car runs like crap. You can sorta test it by putting your fingers under it and pushing up on the diaphram to see if it sticks.

Damn, maybe its a ODBII thing. I really don't see a flying saucer. I'll look harder tomorrow.. =( I'm bringing the car in to the mechanic to run another emissions test. If I fail I'm gonna drop the cat and check that etc.. =( If my EGR is dead.. My car really doesn't run like crap at all.. With this colder weather.. it feels like a real champ. No sputter or anything. Maybe it was just the techron concentrate in my gas. I have a full tank of regular mobil 93 now. Ready to give the rollers another run.
