WHo should win? max or.......

The caddy. My dad thinks his 00 Cadillac Deville (base model) will stomp the max. I got a 97 SE 5-speed with a cone filter. The caddy has a 4.6L V-8 with 275HP, but those things weigh like 2 tons.
I could not find any stats on the caddy(1/4 mile, 0-6), so what do you guys think. Can he "stomp" me? From what I have driven of that thing it was not all that impressive.

It'll be close...

You'd be surprised but with automatics those cars run under 7 seconds 0-60 easy. But don't forget they can't handle any better than a ship so just take him on a few twisties .
Does he have a Concours or DTS? Either way both are slower in 1/4 mile that a 5spd. Max. You will win but you will be shocked at its power.

Watch it

Those things are quite fast despite there size. Like Vyrus said, you'd be surprised at its power. My friends dad raced one in his 325i and kinda laughed at it. He launched poorly and the Deville pulled ahead. Driving hard (and I mean HARD), he could just keep up with it. Once he started hittin the 80mph range, he began to gain and pass the Deville, but man, my friends dad musta ****ed his pants when he saw how fast that Deville launched. Oh ya, the Beamer was a 5spd. Don't know about the Deville.

Just convince him to start it from a roll. Say...50mph. He'll pull ahead at first, but you'll get past him once you get in 5th gear.

Re: Watch it

My family rented one when we went to arizona b/c its the only car that can fit the luggage and golf clubs. The car was a total DOG my 99 auto would smoke this thing no doubt. My brother has a 2k 5 spd and he also agrees that he would KILL and i would also. My friends grandma has one too, this car has no chance against a 5pd max driven properly.

You will smoke him. A 2000 Deville DTS which has the 300 HP motor did 0-60 7.2 and the 1/4 mile = 15.4 @ 91.1 MPH. If your racing a 275 HP version you will wreck him, unless of course if you can't drive.

Now if I could only get my dad to race me. HE looks down on street racing. He never drives the speed limit, always 3mph under, and he only like 46. Go figure. Maybe I could get him to go to bandimere next season. That would be fun as **** racing my dad.

Uh, how do most people treat rental cars?
