I was bored so..
Today I abused my Maxima. I floored the car at least 20 times. Four times from a stop. Tires were spinning. I kept reving my engine to 5,000RPM when the light was red. All this abuse will it mess up my car? I only have 15k mileage. I figure if my car can go to 80k with no problems I am fine. I figured since my parents made me buy the extended warranty for over $1,000 I might as well abuse my car.

I'm sure nothing will happen except for tire problems. I see a lot of other people on here abusing their cars with no problems.

What about transmission problems??? All that stress on it, do you think it can just take it? Man someone needs to knock some sense into you. If wanted to get a car and abuse it, you shouldn't have gotten a Maxima.

Yes, I raced my friends civic most of the time. We were following eachother. He killed me. He has an engine swap. I raced a Mustang GT, and an old hooked up Celica.

Hey my Maxima is not my only car. I floored it 20 times since i've owned it. That car has been floored 20x in 3 years. My girlfriend just broke up with me and I wanted to go have some fun so CHILL OUT. If my Maxima breaks I will not cry about it. It will cost me $50 to get the Transmission fixed. I have 4 other cars to choose from at home so what is the problem??

 

Yea people race and push their cars pretty hard, but you just don't come on here and say "since I was bored, I decided to abuse my Maxima." That is not a very smart thing to say around some of these people. Think before you speak (or type).

 

I guess you don't care about any car you drive. I really hope you don't think it will cost $50 to fix a tranny. The dealer can suspect extraneous stress on it and not fix it under warranty.

The people that I know of that have NOS don't do what you just said you did to your car. I say anyone that spent their own money to buy the car can do what they want to it. Did you buy the car or did your moms buy it for you.
I personally don't think you would just buy a paice of metal to beat on. Hell, you probably wouldn't buy wood to beat on.

 

If you are angry that you and your girl broke up go talk to someone about it. Stay home and relax, dont go out being careless. You can hurt yourself or someones else. The thing I dont like what you said is that I have the extended warrenty and its my car that I bought , I should go beat on it. When you buy something you take care of it. And there is a difference between poople having Nos in their car and just driving around twon taking out all your anger on your car because someone did you wrong.

 

i think most people here purchased their maximas/i30s with their own money. so they don't just go and "abuse" their cars. they actually do take care of it and try to keep it out of the shop...

 

I didn't go beating up on it like you think. I did not just drive my car like mad crazy NO. I raced all the times I floored my car. It was mad crazy. It was in an empty parking lot. We were testing out our cars and having a couple races going on. I don't go doing this everyday. I have extended warranty yes. If something was to happen I would use that. That helps me not worry about it. I don't do this everyday. I just did it tonight. I reved my engine when I raced the Mustang. I reved it at a hooked up Accord, but he did not go. I reved my engine back at my friend's civic.

I raced the Celica GTS three times.
I raced my friends Celica twice.
I raced a Mustang GT
I raced a an old Celica twice (big race)

The big race was me vs my friends Accord 4dr. We did that four times. Honda vs Nissan. I will post who won in another post.

In the parking lot we all lined up and went together (Celica GTS, Civic 2 door couple (engine swap), Hyundai (tribuon) I think that is what it is called, Honda Accord 4dr v6, 2 door Camry hooked up and my Maxima Stock.

It was all races. Only one was not a race and that was when I wanted to test out my 0-60 time in the parking lot. It was fun and thats all I needed tonight.

 

I vote this to be the stupidest thread ever.

 

I floor my car day in and day out...I have put over 65,000 miles on it and I got it used (with 55,000 miles). I am running Nitrous for the last 7,000 miles with no problems. I truly believe if you keep up with basic maitainance you won't have any problems no matter how hard you run it.

Me too!!! hmmm...pamper the car, or make the CAI growl??? growl, hands down!! Hell, I floor it in the morning and more in the afternoon, unless I'm felling really mellow (once operating temp is reached of course). I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep the car until the 2007 models come out, and then...It's either an M3, 'vette, or a used Ferrari, but knowing me i'd probrably still keep the Max. Oh well, I can always dream

 

occasionally I drive my car hard, but I wouldnt call it abuse

it kinda struck me as a an 'I Dont giva F attitude' about your max... and sure its up to you how you treat your car, but instead of beating on it next time your gf screws u over, treat it nicely so you dont begin the next day with no gf and no car... that would suck worse... but then again with you family having four cars I suppose they would last you awhile before you messed em all up... sorry I just feel that way cuz I worked my *** off to pay for my Maxima... my parents didnt give me anything so I cherish it more, I feel sorry for you that you dont.

Some of you guys should mellow out. Look, if all you have to do is flame, then don't post anything at all! The guys having fun. If you spent your whole life doing jack-crap, you'd die realizing what a waste of time your life really was.

And I KNOW everyone has floored a car at some point in their life. Wheter it be some other car or their max. And all of you have raced too. It may have been years, but I garantee at some time in your life, you just flat-out peeled out and dragged someone.

If some of you have problems, don't take it out on members, take it out somewhere else.

That's all.

Oh, and I think all that flooring the car does (when the engine's warm) is eat up more gas than usuall. That's all. May take a little life off the car, but remeber, there's max's out there that have lived through 300k miles with no repairs. And are still running strong as ever! The car would start to rust before you noticed the long-term side effects (unless of course you drive your car anywhere and everywhere all the time to rank up the miles).

 

BTW, MaxDriver98, people are hitting you so hard because you had to ask if it was 'bad to be doing it'. Had you just made the comment, you could have just walked away with a shrug. Instead you asked if it was 'hurting the car'. Bad move. An idiot would know it isn't a good thing.

Oh and Gamezilla, you post messages on a PUBLIC BULLETIN BOARD to get the PUBLIC's OPINION. If you didn't want their opinion, then you shouldn't have posted. Simple as that.

 

He asked if abusing his car would hurt it, not if he should do it at all. Barely anyone answered his question. They just flamed the hell out of him.
