Has anyone dealt with Cattman and there Warranty yet

I picked up a used Jet-Hot coated Y-Pipe last night and it has a bit of rust on it.

The seller told me that he contacted Cattman about the rust and was told he would have to ship it in and they would take care of it...

He didn't want to bother with that as he was going to be selling it so he just sold it.

I looked at Cattman's site and found:
GUARANTEE -
Cattman Performance-brand products: With limited exceptions, Cattman Performance-brand parts carry a limited one year guarantee. See the attached sheet (if any) for any conditional guarantee elements specific to the good(s) purchased. The guarantee is limited to the material and workmanship of the product under normal driving conditions, but does not cover failure of the product due to its misuse, faulty installation or the failure of a related part. Due to the extreme stresses of competitive driving, Cattman Performance guarantees are voided if the part used in racing applications. Guarantee applies to original purchaser and is not transferable. No warranties of merchantability of fitness for particular purpose, or affirmation of fact, or aesthetic subjectivity such as sound or color, expressed or implied, are extended or granted by Cattman Performance.
Then I went to Jet-Hot's website and found:

What kind of guarantee do I get?

When coated inside and out, all parts have a 3 year satisfaction guarantee: new parts also get lifetime rust-through coverage
I have contacted Cattman via E-mail and wrote:
I just purchased a used Jet-Hot coated Y-Pipe from www.Maxima.Org. After reading your guarantee I see that you only cover the original owner of the item. My question is not with workmanship but with the Jet-Hot Coating. There is a bit of rusting of the Pipe. After looking at the F.A.Q’s listed at Jet-Hot’s website. (http://www.jet-hot.com/faq.html) I have found that; new parts also get lifetime rust-through coverage. How would I go about getting the warranty upheld? The person that purchased it originally informed me that he had contacted you and was informed that he would have to ship it in.

If this by chance will not be covered because of the disclaimer in your warranty, (Guarantee applies to original purchaser and is not transferable.) Please inform me of this so I can return the Pipe to the person who purchased it from you to process this through him.

I thank you for your time,

Andre Sierra

What do you all think will the outcome of this? Will Cattman tell me: It's no longer covered and use the disclaimer in the Warranty, and have me contact the seller to ask him to process this? Or will I be a Happy Camper at the end of this?

He probably will not cover it. I sold a pipe to a friend, and he denied warranty on it since it was no longer mine. The pipe broke after 6 months on his car.

I don't think you'll have much luck.
You could always remove the rust yourself and then use some type of galvenized (sp?) paint to prevent future rust.

Re: Re: I got a Reply from Brian

He stood by his Product and explained to me why he no longer offers a Jet-Hot product line and gave me information I can use to contact them as THEY are the ones that offer the Lifetime warranty. He got back to me with in 24 hours and was helpful...

That is why I wrote:

Didn't say he would take it back and look the Item over, but gave me information I could use to help me with my quest to get Jet-Hot to stand by there warranty...

I'll post when Jet-Hot contacts me...

FYI: I wrote them both at the same time. Brian wrote back still nothing from Jet-Hot...
