Plugeye - I tried giving my stepdaughter my beat-up old Explorer first - suddenly a Maxima didn't look so bad!! And she learned to drive a straight shift!

My girl complains about it it all the time, goes into space when I talk about it. But she knows not to get between us. She's really just mad cause I won't let her drive it. "Baby I will give you anything I can in this world, but there is no ****ing way you're driving my car."

You spend to much time and money on it.
Its too old.
Its a money pit.
You could buy a new car for what you have in it....

So now, I didnt spend any on it for a few months, and im buying an 2002 6spd on friday.

Im sure ill have plenty of complaints when i have 2 to work on

That's women. They get jealous over stuff like "hobbies" so don't give into her complaining and she's an ex-fiance for some reason so tell her to take a chill pill. Live your life and do what pleases you. You only live once.

My girlfriend and I are reading this thread and she is agreeing to the majority of these posts as I read them out loud. Here is the main ones that i get.

1. "you spend more money on that car than you spend on me. and more than i spend on clothes."
2. "get off that gay *** website"
3. "its a foreign POS"
4." you pay more attention to it than you do to me."

WOMEN FML!

Good God, I am already getting complaints about my car from my mom. I hate to see what a girlfriend would like to say.

I get complaints like:

"You are going to spend almost the price of the whole car on some ball things to put into headlights, so you can get blue lights?"

"Stop spending money on that old nasty car, its getting ready to die"

"You should save your money for a Honda Civic or a Corolla"

"You want ANOTHER set of rims?"

Things I've heard in the past:

"You love your car more than you love me."

(While being dragged out to shop for a $400 purse):
"It's just a car. Who cares?"

"You should be spending your money on m...us. Not your car."

"Why can't you have a more interesting hobby that I can do with you?"
(Like what?! Knitting or basketweaving?)

When I had my 3rd gen girls loved it. Not a single complaint. Even let a couple drive it they liked it so much.

Drove thousands of miles with various girls in my Durango, across the state for college, to Whistler on ski trips, not a single complaint.

Three days after I bought my BMW and one of my closest friends goes "I don't like the seats, they are weird and uncomfortable"
Me: "what?"
Her: "they are hard and whats with these things on the side?"
Me: "they are firm and those are bolsters, they're sport seats... $1500 genuine leather sport seats"
Me: "I am actually imaging you flying out of the car right now"
Her: "They are uncomfortable"
Me: "you are crazy, do you have any idea how rare they are?"
Her:
Me: "arms flailing, tumbling down the side of the road, hair flying in every direction"
5 minutes later
Me: "seriously how can you not love these seats?"
Me: "you know you can adjust them right, the ***** are on the side"
a few errands later we get back in the car and I notice her rising up 4" or so
Her: "Ohhhhh they go up, I thought they only went forward and backward, this is better, they have like 16 adjustments"
Me: "so you like sitting up high?"
Her: "yeah this is much better"
Me: "I still hope your head bounces off the window"

Three weeks later:
Me: "I'm putting your favorite seats in my Mustang as well"
Her: "great"
Me: *sends a text of this pic*

My wife never complains about the time or money spent on my Maxima. She teases me about time spent on the Org, but just a little, and it always leads to sex.

So there.

Guess the only complaint my girl or any other one has had was when I was on seized up rear coilovers that I preloaded too much. Creak and bounce.

"Your exhaust is too noisy...how do you drive like it like this?"

"Your exhaust is too loud. Can't you make it quieter?"

"Why is your car so damn loud?"

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
