OMG! I'm moving to the States. Who wants to sponsor me?

00 Maxima/08 Rogue full coverage for me and my wife (Both 31 years old), no record $3960/yr. That is the average cost in the Greater Toronto Area for insurance. Plus that is a discount with home insurance which is another $1020/yr. I've shopped around and that is the cheapest I can get so I have no choice as I've been with my company forever and also get first traffic ticket and first at fault accident grievance.

Who wants to sponsor me to move?

every insurance company uses aftermarket parts or refurbished. if you want to have OEM parts on your vehicle you need to endorse your policy at the point of sale and be prepared to pay 40-50% more a year vs. the guy who just settles for regular aftermarket parts.
honestly, ive crashed a lexus, a camaro and an Infiniti and you could'nt tell aftermarket parts were used.

Please don't pay more over a year than your car is worth...I've seen this alot.

very true!

a few examples of guys on here putting full coverage on a 15+ year old car with mods on it that exceed the value of the vehicle itself.
worst part is that the owners think its covered....

Yay! Progressive just lowered me to $110 a month. I was paying close to $200 before. More money in my pocket.

I'm at $1,600/year for full coverage on my '04 through Esurance. They are by far the best rate I've come across and they're easy to work with I have one at fault accident within the last couple of years. Oh and I'm 27.

I had a front end collision and aftermarket headlights were installed... the light output and beam pattern were awful. One call to my agent and I had OEM headlights back in the day.

Other aftermarket parts aren't as noticeable.

It's a cost control measure. Every company will use it when possible, to your point.

Liability(no way im getting full coverage for a 95 max)
Uninsured motorists
property damage
roadside assistance
only one ticket for tailgating a state trooper, even though i was at least 2 car lengths from him lol

My fiance and I are on the same policy. Shes 30 and im 27. Ive had 2 seat belt violations and a 39 in a 35 which got dropped after waiting 3hrs in court - but nothing for 6 years. She has 1 accident but not at fault. Both AAA members

Both cars on Geico:
Full coverage
umbrella
$500 deductable
24 hr roadside assistance
Rentals
Free glass
$2500 insured for exhaust, suspension, stereo, rims
Renters insurance
Clean driving record discount
Auto debit discount
Paperless discount
Multiple policy discount

Just got lowered to $250/mo and we pay jan-april, dont pay for 2 months, pay july-oct and dont pay for 2 months. So I only pay 8 months out of the year. If I divided that amount over 12 payments I would pay roughly 167/month. Not too shabby if you ask me

....did i forget to mention body work is an art? not every joe or jose around the corner knows how to truely restore a car....refurbished parts have nothing to do with your particular situation; you just choose a bad body shop...it helps to do research beforehand.
