How To restore the chrome on your MAXIMA....

Hello guys and gals. The chrome on my 37k mile maxima started to fade and I restored it. I felt the need to share this 15min how to with you all. It only took some masking tape, mothers alluminum polish, mothers power cone, and a drill. the entire job took only 15 min. Im not sure how much these parts cost to replace but I think I saved a few bucks today.

this is the chrome before...

this is how you place the tape. Its to protect the paint... Excuse me if im horrible at applying tape...

power cone on the drill...
spray a little detailer spray on the cone to soften it up and wear gloves. Mind the snake in the background...

simply apply some mothers on the affected area with a rag or applicator pad. Turn the drill to the speed you feel comfortable using and begin to polish. Repeat the process until you are satisfied with the out come. Then apply any kind of chrome polish and your done.
a few seconds later you get this...

I hope this is useful information for everyone.

and a pic of my maxima...

best polish i've seen yet. but the plastic will just fade again. If you don't mind all that, keep at it. Eventually you'll start polishing through the plastic. The "chrome" is a thin plastic under the clear plastic.

thank you. I take great pride in my cars + im super **** about my cars staying clean. I detail my cars all the way from the roof down to the undercarage and behind the wheels. some people look at me funny when they see me washing the underside of my cars LOL!! but I will just do it again if it fades.
