116,000 Miles: To spray or to stay N/A?

116,000 Miles: To spray or to stay N/A?
Well, as it sits, I have 116K miles on my 96 GXE 5 speed. By spring, I'll have probably 120K. I've been planning to use the NOS 5124 kit for a long time now. I actually purchased it once, but JC Whitney is slow and it took more than 2 months to get here, I finally cancelled the order. I'd be starting out with a 50 shot. Assuming all goes well I'd ramp it up to a 100 shot eventually, that was the plan. In addition to the NOS kit itself, I'd need guages (EGT, FP), a bottle heater, fuel pump, etc etc etc. I know there are many members of this board pusing 100 or more forced induction horsepower.
Over the last few days I've been considering staying N/A, getting the G-Force ECU, UDP, and B-pipe. I'm really impressed with the dyno's I've seen of the G-Force ECU. Unfortunately it can't be used with nitrous.
So my question is this: What's everyone's opinion on what I should do? Spray a 100 shot and get slicks and hope for 12s and hope that I don't blow my motor? Or stay N/A and possibly break 13s on motor? In addition to drag racing, I autoX and run road courses, so nitrous would be useless there. Remember, the fun only lasts as long as the juice holds out. But by the same token, I'd like to give that LS-1 in the other lane a run for his money.
Any opinions are appreciated.

Re: 116,000 Miles: To spray or to stay N/A?
Depending on what you want to spend the most reliable way to run a 100 shot is with the JWT nitrous. That requires a fuel pump upgrade and at least 370cc (or if your hardcore like Don 550cc injectors ). I'm sure that if G-force added a daughter board with an activation switch they could do a custom n2o program. There are several people on the SE-R list that spray with more than 100k miles. Everything depends on your engine's compression and leakdown test results. If they are ok spray away if not then stay away from the spray. I believe the SE-R list is trying to do a group deal on JWT ECU's so this might be a good time to jump in if the deal goes through.

I have not done a compression and leakdown test yet. If Brian ever gets his *** in a plane and flies out here I will do the compression test then. Its a good thing I have 4 months or so to decide which route to go.

.
everyone knows that the G-Force ECU is crap!!! they should call it the GHEY-Force ecu!
j/k
I've never even heard of the g-force ECU, it just looked like some kind of attempted thread hijacking gone wrong or something
G-force rulez!

Re: .
G-force used to be UPRD back in the day IIRC. However rumor has it that UPRD went bankrupt or something so G-force became its own thing. Don't worry if there is a thread to be hijacked you'll know (BTW you'll never guess who started the idea of thread hijacking hehe ).

Re: Re: .
I thought G-Force was around before UPRD. They were supposed to supply Stillen, but something went wrong and that never happened. Then they were the UPRD ECU, but UPRD ran out of their initial seed money and went under, so G-Force is back as it's own separate entity. That's how I remember it anyways.

why should he waste money on it...when he can just borrow mine. He doesn't need to have results til the spring anyway.
I think his car will do fine. If it wasn't fine, do you think it would run 14.46 in the 1/4 with ONLY a y-pipe.

And not to mention its really, really cold outside in Michigan. I don't have a problem waiting. If I wait it will be closer to the time when I'll actually be spraying, less times for things to get messed up between when I test it and when I spray it.
