Guess what WarpSpeed got for Christmas

I told Dan just the other day we need to be able to cut our flatbar for the pads of the sfc's and drill them faster. He said just run that chopsaw and drill a little faster and by the way where are my subframe connectors?

Always on the lookout for stuff on eBay to make what we do a little quicker I found just the thing:
http://www.nwa.quik.com/bmfjeep/images/4014tm.gif

Weighing in at slightly more than 1250# this Scotchman Ironworker can punch a 1-1/2" hole in 1/2" plate. It can make 40 cuts of 5/8" x 5" thick flatbar in a minute plus a whole lot more, just about everything but answer the phone.

Now all we have to do is get it back to the shop. All I really wanted for Christmas was to be able to take the time off to put on my new Apexi catback.........Dan is such a slave driver.

We are going to fit our gen 4 with the stage 2 x brace prior to shipping the stage 1. We have to attach the additional brackets to the stage 1 first because we want them welded on for those that might want the stage 2, although the stage 2 will actually bolt to them.

We have to put holes in the 6 brackets we are attaching plus in the ends of the x bracing. Having the ironworker will make it a snap.

We have been running some B pipes for the gen 4, we should have them in shortly. So far the sizes we are running are 2-1/4", 2-1/2" and 2-3/4", we still feel the 3" is too large and think the 2-3/4" will be about the best for the SC Maxima's.

Woah! How does THAT compare to getting a 15-piece socket set for Christmas?

It is sort of overkill but when you are doing what we do it really pays to have the equipment to do it. We were figuring the cost of paying someone to do the cutting and hole punching vs buying a piece of equipment. If we have it there is no waiting and no excuses and it gives us more flexibility to do other things.

I have other rims too. I also haev my MB Motoring rims (5 star) w/ snow tires and my Chrome rims. I onlu have the steels on when i drag. It was teh most recent pic i had to use. I will also be getting the 300zx rims. Maybe that will be turned gunmetal.

Hmm... 2 3/4" B-pipes...any thought on 2 3/4" Y-pipe?

Sounds good! Do you guys have any plans of making a Y-pipe or headers for a 02 max?

hey do you guys have any plans on making a cold AIR BOX setup for the maxima. i've seen them for lexus's and other cars. it's part of the cai with a heatshield and uses the stock air ram into the heatshield and there is a cone intake. no drilling through fender though.

i'm VERY interested in one.

Yes and Yes.

Yes #1.......I plan to try a 2-3/4" Y pipe this coming weekend.
Yes #2.......We are searching for a 2002 Maxima to do a Y pipe, we know the sfc's will fit as they are the same as the 2000.

We have a 2000 FED which we installed sfc's on and are going to do the Y pipe and CAI plus stage 2 on his next visit.

I would expect when we find a 2002 we will do the same. Free is awful hard to beat.

so does that mean only the CAI or the Cold Air Box setup also where you don't have to drill through the fender??????

I have had at least 4 people ask for that type of setup, when Dan comes down after the first of the year we plan to try one. We are also looking at a battery relocation to the trunk kit. It would be the best mounted on the passenger rear and would really give the needed space for a CAI box as you mention plus give some weight offset and should help with handling.

I think the box with no hole would be a good way to go, we have a plastic guy working with some of our CAD drawings so see what the cost would be to do in plastic.

ya i think it would work out very nicely, so you get what i'm saying. it moves the filter a little further fromthe engine, with a heat shield blocking it, and on one side of the shield the stock air ram connects to it and the filter is connected to what would be a slightly modified 1st piece of a CAI

Damn, you guys just keep adding to my list of things to buy from you. SFC's will be in January. That CAI sounds great! I was hoping I wouldn't have to do my own!

Any word on a FSTB that would fit a VE powered Max?
