Reliable sources have told me that Renault has had a substantial influence on the next Maxima. There will be an increase in HP, more room, and a completely different body style.

Renault wanted a vehicle that will compete with the Volvo V40 & V70, BMW 3-Series Sport Wagon, and Audi A4 Avant in North America.

Luckily Nissan already has the Stagea & Renualt has the Laguna Estate with which to work off of.

This isn't unprecedented, because Nissan had a Maxima wagon in the 1985 -1988 model years. This will also give them a wagon for the Infinity line.

Does this make the Maxima the 5 door Sports car?

 

that would be interesting though IF they brought back the wagon then nissan should make a 4wd option to compete with the Subaru Outback only the max wagon would be faster but personally i think they should keep the sedan format, because its had its reputation as being a sport sedan for so long...can we say 6th gen Maxima vs BMW M5?

 

blah, blah, blah...chit, chat...all rumors. Have you searched the board? There's twenty different ideas as to what the Maxima will become, when it will become it, what it will compete with, so on and so forth...why not just wait and find out with the rest of the world?
