Cattman is a great company with great customer support as well. It's sad to see him go.
It would be good for the two companies to merge for the Maxima community. The aftermarket, or at least quality aftermarket for the Maxima's isn't as strong as it should be compared to other import's.

Update:

Thanks again for your continued support. I just wanted to say that I have been paying close attention to your comments on the forums and I have noticed a repeating concern about the price of our Thermal Intake Spacers. I understand that not everybody can afford our kit priced at $225. I'm sure you know by now that our products are the best that money can buy. But, sometimes you can barely afford our $26.85 VIAS Block Plate Kit or even a tank of gas.

In light of this and our Customer Loyalty letter and promotion, I would like to announce the exciting release of another option for our Thermal Intake Spacers. Our current kit consists of 5 custom designed spacers, a Throttle Body Spacer, an Elbow Spacer, an Upper Intake Manifold Spacer, and two Lower Intake Manifold Spacers, complete with hardware and installation instructions for $225.

Another kit option is now available, which consists of 3 spacers, a Throttle Body Spacer, an Elbow Spacer, and an Upper Intake Manifold Spacer. The two Lower Intake Manifold Spacers are not included. But the kit will still come complete with hardware and installation instructions.

This NWP Engineering 3pc Thermal Intake Spacer Kit will be priced at $175, which is $50 less than our current 5pc kit. Both kits will be made available for you to choose from. And if in the future, you decide to install the two Lower Intake Manifold Spacers, they will be available for purchase separately.

Our full 5pc Thermal Intake Spacer Kit that we sell now has been dyno proven to show a 10hp and 12 ft-lbs of torque gain as well as a 40 degree reduction in intake manifold temperatures. This 3pc kit will not provide the full 10hp increase, but it will still be a noticeable HP increase and reduction in heat soak.

We figure that by having these two options available to our customers, it will allow more people to benefit from our unmatchable products. And we also currently have several more exciting new products in the works. More information will be released in the coming months! Thank you for all your support!

For more information about our new 3pc Thermal Intake Spacer Kit, please see the thread below or visit our website (www.NWPEngineering.com).

Thank you. And I forgot to bring out that we are happy to release our EGR Block Plate Kit for the 04-08 Maxima and 05-06 Altima Upper Intake Manifold.

You will find more information here: http://forums.maxima.org/group-deals...-manifold.html

And we are only 3-4 weeks away from a VERY exciting new NWP product. Testing has been going great so far! I just want a few more weeks of testing before I leak any information about it.

I do have some things in the works for the 350z. But we are currently concentrating on multiple product designs for the Maxima and Altima 3.5. Once those are released, I will be able to concentrate further on the 350z design some more. I already have all the 350z parts needed to finish up the design. Plus, I already have a test vehicle lined up. But it realistically won't be until at least Spring 2012 before I will be able to begin testing on this product. I apologize for the delay. The Maxima/Altima world needs me right now.

I was looking online to find an all-aluminum radiator for my 5th gen 5-speed, but I can't seem to find one. Hopefully something like this is in the works too!

No worries. I was just curious.

Are the Z products you have lined up Z-specific, or will they work on the G, too?

I doubt I will ever get into radiators. But who knows, it's possible.

The product idea I currently have in the works is for both the 350z and G35 RWD engine.

Thank you for everyone's positive comments so far. For those that currently do not own an NWP VIAS Block Plate Kit (aka BOP), now is your time since they are now priced at our lowest price ever.

NWP Engineering will not be undersold. Allow us the chance to earn you as a loyal customer.

Effective until further notice, our Basic VIAS Block Plate Kits will be priced at $16.85!

That is $19.97 SHIPPED anywhere in the US, even Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and USVI.

This is not a stripped down version of our kit. You get the same full kit as you'd expect. Please see our sales thread below for more information. And please feel free to post here if you have any comments or suggestions about our customer service or product quality.

<-- Anxious to see what you have in mind.. and for anyone that doesn't have a BOP yet, IT IS TOTALLY WORTH IT! A very inexpensive mod with a decent gain. I gained 5whp and 2wtq on the dyno after installing the NWP BOP.

I just wanna provide my own experience with Aaron, I have known him for a long time, since I joined the forum pretty much. I have met him in person, he has been over my place as well to check out the car and such, his a great person and puts in ALOT of work into the business, specially the quality. He has always talked to me about the progress of his products and has always told me about the hours and time he and his guys put in.

I have the whole 3.5 intake spacer kit as well as VIAS plate, and ofcourse the Torque Link holding down my built 3.5, god knows it needs some support when 20psi of boost is trying to rip the engine off the mounts.

Keep the quality and support coming Aaron, you have a great reputation and have the products to back it up.

You get what you pay for, and those that purchase replicated items, you'll find out the quality when you have to pay for damages or end up paying for real quality parts because the cheap stuff failed.

Do what you have to do bro. I totally understand why. I'm still loving the ETL and spacers on my 4gen. Your slowly making me want to do the 3.5 swap just to have more of your products on my car Can't wait to see what you have coming out for the maxima community in the coming months. Also, thanks for having the time of day to chat with me when you can.

Awesome Customer service while im sitting in the drought ridden lands of Afghanistan in Helmand Province, sweating my **** off.Needless to say upon my return i had amassed a pretty decent pile of items to install.
Until I was able to complete all of my bolt ons (*Cattman Gen 3s and 3 Inch) I rocked my NWP Block plate, NWP 5pc spacer kits with Coolant Bypass, as well as my NWP Torque Link, with my udp and sri. There was a noticeable change that while i couldnt wait to add the other items i was satisfied with my car all over again. The only decal gracing under my hood...NWP. plain and simple.

No other companies making race inspired products that they have run on their Maxima, and then trickeled down directly to us, only to be able to offer something making more hp when he discovers it due to continuing innovations on his own car. Hes grassroots racing at its best, hell look at the area under his dyno curve. And he isnt secretive, willing to share his knowledge and the best path in his eyes for our build. I would never have gone with the EDGE RACING TQ Converter outside of speaking with AARON. As it stands that has been one of my favorite mods. Same goes on the rec'd of the UTEC.
I look at Aaron as giving me the foundation that led me to my 264 HP AUTO build thats only going to go higher this spring SFR MANI, 3.5 Knights Intake +Vstack, retune and possibly cams and pricing be damned im going to spend my money at home with those that support me and pour the money they make back into my community.
Thanks for the love and support of the Max community Aaron.

Would love to see you take over the cattman brand if Brian does indeed let it go, hell seems a natural progression. As well you need to make us a mani, im { } close to buying the sfr, and been holding out since i started asking you...waiting on a change of heart lol. Great dude, great company

I am always looking for ways to improve on my designs to make the product better in some way.

This past weekend, I installed the Thermal Intake Spacer Kit on an 08 Maxima. I decided to review over the installation instructions carefully to see if there were any changes I could make to allow the install to go smoother for my customers.

Here are a few things that were changed:

1) A customer contacted me about an idle issue he was having after installing the NWP Spacers. He said that he manually opened the throttle body plate in order to clean it. This is a big "no no"! I told him that he would have to visit the dealership to have a Throttle Body Alignment Procedure done. So a big, bold caution statement was added to the instructions, which reads:

CAUTION: DO NOT attempt to open the throttle body plate manually with your fingers! This can result in a misalignment of the throttle body and can prevent the engine from idling properly.
2) Also, a little tip was added to Step #9 that states to use a small screwdriver to release the male connector from the bracket on the backside of the UIM for more room. Without doing this, it is a pain to remove that bracket that's bolted to the back of the UIM.

3) Also, I don't know how I missed this. But the old instructions did not state to unbolt the power steering hose bracket from the elbow. This step was added.

4) Also, the old instructions mentioned to remove the EGR tube from the UIM on the 04-08 Maximas. EGR systems are only on model years 04-06. This has been changed.

5) After Step #23, there is a tip on how to apply RTV to the Spacers. I elaborated by stating:

Only a consistent, paper thin coating of RTV is needed! Make sure it goes completely around each intake port without any breaks.
6) On Step #32, it says to torque down the TB bolts to 5-7 ft-lbs. Since most ft-lb torque wrenches do not read this low, I included the torque equivalent in in-lbs.

32) Use the 6x60 SHC Throttle Body bolts included in the kit and tighten all bolts to 5 to 7 ft-lb (60-84 in-lbs) in numerical order as shown.
7) And since some people may confuse ft-lbs with in-lbs, I thought this statement was good to add right after this step.

CAUTION: Do not confuse “ft-lbs” with “in-lbs”! Damage to expensive parts can result!
8) And I also included the torque for the studs in in-lbs in Step #38.

Torque these studs to 7-8 ft-lbs (84-96 in-lbs).
These revisions were not totally necessary, but I thought that it was just one more way to provide better service to our customers.

Also, for the past several months, I have been working on some things to reduce the machining costs on the NWP Engineering Engine Torque Link Kits without sacrificing quality. I will be able to pass these savings onto you. Stay tuned for more information!

Powdercoat all the parts of the torque link, Cant_Get_Ryte; (except for the chrome end-pieces). I neglected to powdercoat the little passenger-mount bracket, and now regret it.

Somehow my tech was worried to install the lower intake manifold spacers (according to the books u have to remove the fuel rails to get to them, but if they thoroughly read Aarons install papers it says you don't need to do that) so I essentially have the 3 piece kit installed right now. To me it still feels like 10hp and you probably could tell me its no different, its absolutely amazing. But I still ask my self what will those LIM spacers do!? so I cannot wait for the day to get them on there...which in my practical eyes won't be untill I get new spark plugs in 50k+ miles... but i can not wait to see how much the LIM do by them selfs.

Note to self, I can allways sell my unused LIM to someone who wants a full 5 pc set ...nice !
