i keep chewing up wheel bearings -_- like within 2 months ...WTH??

 

incorrect torque ? cheap bearings? worn spindle ?

 

Are you running 50lb 20s?

 

lol ..no i keep buying the cheaper ones ..which might have something to do with it lol. how about alignment?

 

Side topic for my curiosity: How did you know your wheel bearings kept going bad? Symptoms?

yea youll know when they go. you hear a really annoying vibrating sound . like voom vooomm voommm voommmm. lol idk how to really type it

 

+1 this, as well as a vibration in the steering wheel and light vibration in the pedals I'd have to add. Its a lot easier to just buy a quality part that is always used.

 

Anyone else had serious issues with wheel bearings?

Pondering picking up a Maxima to use as a track/roadrace car and if these things eat bearings that is a BAD thing with the side loads that I would be showing it.

 

You should be fine, I get lots of over steer in my car once in awhile and my oem one is just fine. Avoid curbs though.

I have an '09 with 136k mi on it now. I replaced my first set of front wheel bearings at 72k miles and now I have to replace them again. It's not like I'm off roading in my max, but I can at times take some exits a little quick. But damn, still nothing like the OP.

I'm wondering if I should use the OEM or find a different brand bearing. Any suggestions?


ETA: The car is all stock except for tires.

 

mine just chewed up another. lol oem is the best as far as i know. take out the knuckle bring it to nissan n let them do the rest . easiest way

 

Are you not seating the drive axle all the way when you re-assemble?
