on my mom's 96 Accord

I have a kit made for a 9006 bulb - projector, but I tossed it on my mom's car (the Accords use a reflective lense) just to see how it looks.

<img src="http://www.cyberhosts.net/~gotrice/temp/kit01.jpg">
the Honda connectors have reversed polarity, so I used the conversion kit that's included to reverse it. Nissans are opposite, so the stock connector goes directly into the ballast. The wire from the ballast goes into the HID bulb (red connector). The one with the wire loom is the reverse polarity connector.

<img src="http://www.cyberhosts.net/~gotrice/temp/kit02.jpg">
the one with the blue tab (right) is where the stock connector normally would go.

well, I guess I know the reason why they have two separate bulbs - one for projector and one for reflective lenses. you can see how greenish/yellowish it looks. Shingles mentioned this in one of our emails.

I'll have more pics once the reflective-style bulb arrives early next week.

But... you can see how much of a difference the HIDs make over the PIAA SuperWhites.

Hmm... so there is a yellow tint... I think there are two batches of bulbs from what I have found out.. the second batch of the D2S bulbs are yellowish...

Hope the R bulbs are too yellow....

There's no need.. I'll tell you right now that hte HIDs will outshine.

Remember though that's on an accord.

I don't have a tripod, so the night shots will be very blurry (slower shutter speed).

btw, phoung, do the philips kit you get come with the beam correction tool like what xenonshop.com is offering or is that some BS thing to make us spend more?

also, noticed that there is the blub cover in the housing...do you have to remove it? is there space in the housing to fit the HID blubs...aren't they a little longer than 9004 blubs?

No, I am not using HIDs on my maxima with 9004. It's not going to work right on the 9004, ie 4th gen adn 3rd gen. In the 5th gen it'll be fine but you lose high beams.

Did you guys notice that in emax95's HID pics when he's up against the wall it looks like there are four focal points for the lights? Is this because the beam pattern is messed up or am I way off here?

'beam correction tool'? That's the first I've heard of one available from Philips..

No, the bulb glare guard should stay. The HID bulb is the same length as the halogen bulb. It just looks longer because the PIAA is tilted downward.
