Leather, a car in the Maxima's class should be in leather.

My 3rd Gen SE was leather, my 4th Gen SE was cloth, and now my 5th Gen GLE is leather. I prefer the comfort and grip that cloth seats provided, but the look of leather makes a world of a difference.

^^Yeah I agree. I have two 3rd gens, love the coolness and grip of the cloth, but the shear snobness of quality leather seats is hard to beat.

Leather is key. It's definitely one of those personal preference things though... depends on what your priorities are, etc. It's all about the look for me. Tinting keeps the leather pretty cool in summer, and winter is all about the heaters. Overall, the look of a car with leather is improved hugely with leather - cloth seats just don't convey that same impression. If you're into racing though, I can see why cloth would be preferable

I like how the leather looks in the car, only thing is when it's too hot or cold the seats feel very hot or very cold depending how it is outside.

I just voted and it looks like I'm in the minority! I prefer cloth interiors - I like the look of leather but I prefer the feel of cloth especially when it's hot weather... each to their own!

I prefer cloth, but have leather. If I had a choice I would go with cloth for comfort over long trips.

so long as your windows are tinted, leather shouldn't really be too much of a problem.. i guess it's the age old battle of form over function though... form ftw...!!

Cloth all the way. I have a black maxima, so it is much more comfortable to get into cloth seats after parking it outside in the sun for 8 hours. I hate having to do it, but there is nowhere else to go to put my car. Gotta love working on a beach.

I vote cloth, unless you live in a moderate climate. I think leather makes too much noise and gets too hot. But it does look better.

Takes longer for leather to crack than holes forming from worn cloth...

Anyones ride whose leather is cracking did not properly treat it and deserves it...

Less echo'ey interior with the cloth IMO. I also noticed that a good sound system sounds better in a cloth interior. I love the cloth seats in my 2k2 SE. I got my car exactly the way I wanted it. Black, 6spd, HLSD, moonroof, no bose and CLOTH! I'll get leather when I get my GS

Its just my opinion, I don't particularly like the sound of my music reverberating inside the cabin, I'd rather have it absorbed by the cloth interior. I've also driven an 03 GLE for a while and I didn't like how much louder the interior was... The air is much calmer to me in my cloth interior. But like I said...its just my opinion.

That's cool, I'm normally going too fast with the windows down listening to my CAI, Headers and GReddy Catback. The 6th Gen 8 speaker Bose system works well so I'll just leave it at that...

And cloth looks stained, worn, raggedy or torn...

Must be a reason all high end cars use leather exclusively...

Leather is better

I've had vehicles with both cloth and leather, and I strongly prefer leather. My main reason is with cloth seats I seem to get a lot of electric shocks when I exit the vehicle. I've never had that happen with leather seats.

A big sigh ... my dog just chewed off the corner of my rear seat back last night. First thing she's ever destroyed (2 years old) but she did a bang-up job! Oh well .... 10 year old Maxima with 186k miles. Not like I'll ever get enough on resale to do much anyway ....

Leather.

It gets a little bit hotter in the sun, but I prefer it 10 times more.

This was a sign that she wasn't happy with the amount of attention that you were giving to her that day.

+1 to that... back when I was still driving my parents car, I would zap myself every single time I got out and closed the door... it's stupid, but that pissed the heck out of me to no end..

Leather cures that!

Leather for me.

Not only does it look more luxurious in my eyes, but it has been a lot easier to maintain. Much more resiliant and stain resistant. Spills wipe right of, and once my cuzzin even spilled bleach on my back seats. It didnt cause even so much as a slight discoloration...(black leather). If it was cloth I would still have a nice lil momento of the experience.

My new SE is the 1st car that I have owned since 1997 with cloth in it. I bought it purposely like that so I didn't have to fool with the Bose system and a few other things. I am having a Katskins kit installed for $400 very shortly!
