Bad Day For DAVEB!

As some of you may remember, every few years car dealer management
convinces themselves that I'm a bad idea to keep around. This morning, South Point Nissan let me go. Just wanted to thank everyone for the business over the years, I really enjoyed it, and if anyone has any oppotunities in the Austin area, keep me in mind!

damn, that really sucks to hear that. They will surely regret it when your customers no longer buy parts from them.

Got an update- I found another Nissan dealer to adopt my .org program. My friend Rusty Myler is parts manager at Gunn Nissan in San Antonio, and is willing to extend the same discount and service level to .org members. I have worked with him in the past, he is a great guy, he has my recomendation. So if you need parts, just give him a call, remember to ask for him by name. I've already arranged everything. Here's the contact info:

Gunn Nissan
210-496-0806
rmyler@gunnauto.com

BTW, I already got a job offer!

Yaaay!
I was just coming back here to ask your email address so I could pass it on to CZOT if they had any recommendations. If this offer falls through, let me know and I'll undelete that email..

I had the same exact thing happen to me two months ago at the car dealership I had worked at (parts). I had worked at that dealership since 2000. When the owner hired new upper management, they have been replacing other managers, and the fire-and-rehire process started to trickle down. I recently ran into one of the UPS guys that's on our route, and he told me the young kid they replaced me with is a complete f**ktard! I wish you the best of luck in your next job!

I'm really sorry to hear that, Dave. It's not just the discount, but your knowledge and experience, as well as you just being a great guy to deal with. Anyway, glad to hear that you have something else lined up. Please let us know if it's back in the Nissan or auto parts world because many people would do well to have a resource like you. All the best and thanks for all the help over the years.

I don't think that's quite the case: he lined up something to help us, not himself.

Dave: if you want to move to MD I can give you the contact info for Frederick Nissan's owner and manager. They like to mess around with high performance stuff. Could be a good spot for you.

Sounds to me Southpoint is now being managed by this guy:

Regardless, it sounds like you've landed on your feet. Thanks for your service to the .org.

Sorry to hear about the job, I didn't order much from you, but when I did I couldn't ask for better service. The local nissan dealership here sucks, I hope the .org program through the new guy is just as good.
