I called last week and they said you no longer worked there... I told them they were stupid for letting you leave without a fight and hung up.... Guess others feel the same way. Glad to hear your not letting it slow you down. Thanks for all your help... too bad I didnt look at this thread earlier... Just spent $130 on valve covers and gaskets form local dealer

I was out of town when all this happened and just got word of this tonight. As you all know, I order ALL my OEM Nissan parts from him. I probably put one of his kids through college

Anyway, I just got off the phone with Dave. He's doing just fine and is in great spirits. It's so true when they say when one door closes another opens.

I'm still confused about this thread. Did he, or did he not get another job? If not, I don't mind spotting a $20 to his paypal account to get him by till the next job. Ordered from him in the past, great guy.

I know OWS is about the 99% out there getting screwed. Dave is in the 1% group, in service and knowledge.

Can't help you land anywhere in TX as I'm in the same situation myself. Just wanted to say thanks for all the years of service & knowledge. It's resources like you that helped make the .org a valuable forum. Good luck!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I can't thank you enough Dave for all of your help and great pricing with parts over the years. You have been a huge asset to this community, and you will be missed. Good luck on the job search, I'm sure you will find something quickly!

This is a sad day for Maxima.org

I only dealt with you once Dave, but it was a great experience that made me feel like I knew you on a personal level. Best of wishes on your new endeavors. No doubt a guy like you will succeed wherever it is life takes you.

BTW, it'd be kinda kool if you give us the email addy of your old Sup at Southpoint, and we can all email and express our views re: their decision to let you go. We can do our own, electronic "Occupy Southpoint" in support of Dave!

Wow, i was shocked when i found this out. i thought maybe there was a mistake. Dave, you been a super guy over the years, and helped out a ton of people. We need more people like you in this world. As a Canadian, i will miss the lower prices you offer, and the personal service that was next to none. Kudos to you and the best of luck in whatever you end up doing.

Wow, this is very sad news. Dave, I just want to say that it was a pleasure doing business with you. Your knowledge, attention to detail and willingness to offer the best prices anywhere, is what brought me back. Even though I live in Canada, you still gave me personalized service from you. Good luck with the new job you have lined up and if it's in the Nissan/parts industry, please let us know.

Wow, just seeing this.
I actually called all the way from Nigeria last week asking after you at the dealership and was put on hold for 10mins.
I just had to try you out after reading all the wonderful things written about you here.

Good luck.

Gunn is where I bought my car from. I loved their sales but when I bought my car their service was awful.

I'm glad you got an offer already! You've always been a great help to me

Just saw this. Sorry to hear that they let you go. You've always been my immediate choice for OEM parts. Glad you've gotten another offer already. You've got a PM.

New resource for parts

Sorry to hear about Dave B. I had a really good experience this weekend with my Maxima finally getting fixed for the infamous p0507 throttle body issue. I got it done by Gillman Nissan of Fort Bend, Texas. They are located in Rosenberg Texas, outside Houston. I was talking to the Service/Parts Manager about getting the throttle body from Gunn Nissan and that they gave us a discount of 20% like thanks to Dave B. Well, he said that he would match that price if we talked to him.
If you need Nissan parts, call Brent Koenig at (800) 825-7923.

If you are in the Houston area, his number is (281) 633-5544.
Brent relearned my new throttle body for $54, not the usual $180 that others, like Sterling Mcall, charge.
