Speed sensitive steering question
Speed sensitive steering question
I have a 2K2 SE. At highways speed, the steering wheel feels a bit loose. I thought it would get tighter as speed went up. Does anyone else feels the same about their 2K2 steering? It is real bad when the car is going through a curve at 45MPH and above and I hit a slight bump. a bit hard to control.

Re: Re: Speed sensitive steering question
Actually it is supposed to be the opposite with speed sensitive steering. At slow speeds, it has too much assist on my 4th gen (no feel, just like a Buick), and at highway speeds, it firms up a little bit, but still does not feel as well weighed as Honda or BMW steering.

At speed, the steering becomes less sensitive, ie. loose. Otherwise, you hit that bump at 80mph and that little jerk of the hands can land you in the ditch. In general though, I think 4th gens at least have too much steering assist/boost.
