Movies

I've been making a few movies for the groups, but I"ve ran into a problem. I've been using the Windows movie maker and it only records in Window Media Files. Is there anyway it can be converted to an MPEG? I wanted to get these converted before the next DC meet in 2 weeks. Please help

Re: Re: Yea, I use Ulead too...

Came with Creative Lab's "Video Blaster" software..

The video is 100% done I just don't want to try and upload 135mgs from a land line... I could only condense the video to 10 mins.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Yea, I use Ulead too...

I use MGI VideoWave 4 to capture my video off my camcorder - it came with the Dazzle 80 video capture device that I bought

And I use Adobe Premiere to edit and compress my video.

I used MPEG4 V1 to compress the video. I have no idea what the hell that is, but I found it the best kind of compressor and most people are able to view it.

What should I be looking for, then?? Mine is already in the MPEG form so the encoders will reduce the file size to less than 134mgs?

Re: Movies

you can do what clee did and use the DiVX 4.0 codec. limit the screen size to something fairly small (352x240 or thereabout). this will yield the best quality vs size. also, be prepared for some serious downtime, as it can take a while to compress.

if you still want to do MPEG (playable in standalone players if in VCD) you can use TMPEG (free!) and make a VCD with Nero Burning Rom (www.ahead.de or www.nero.com)

lemme know if you have any questions, cause i did this for quite a while as a hobby. mostly ripping DVD's though
