my auto shifted past 5900rpm, in "D"...
normally when i go WOT, it will go to 5900rpm and shift, well today was different. i hadn't used the car since friday, and then it snowed, so today, which is a nice cold day, i decided to take the max out for a spin. i drove around a bit, to let the car warm up, maybe 15-20 mins. after she warmed up, i decided to go WOT, its cold, let me feel the rush of the VQ! so i hit it, the rpms rise, and i grip the steering wheel with both hands so i dont lose to the torque steer. the needle hit 5900rpm, and instead of shifting, it kept going
i thought that it might be in 1 or 2, but it was in D. at around 6300rpm or so, it shifted, i couldn't believe it, so i try again(keep in mind i'm not going more than 60, so i guess i was shifting from 1st to 2nd, it was on a service road), i turn around, and do it again, guess what, it did it again, shifted at 6300rpm, at this point i was excited, so i did it again, but i shouldn't have. this time when i got past 5900rpm, i got excited again, but it didn't go past 6000rpm, in fact, it stayed there without shifted, when i noticed this, i quickly took my foot off the pedal, i thought i might have blown the engine(or it was going to blow). can anyone explain this? i didn't try it again after that, but i doubt it will do it again.

Your car seems to shift early. What size rims fo you have? Swapping different size rims alters teh gear ratio and it will either make the tranny shift earlier or later. The smaller the rim/tire combo, the earlier it shifts. When i drag, i run 15" and deflate to 20 psi, the overall height is roughly the same size as a 14" setup. This setup makes my car shift around 6k rpms. It might be ytour TCM. I know 5th gens had a recall on TCM problems.
