Something disturbing for those that desire yellow fogs

http://www.super-lexus.com/howto/fogmod.html

If you like the practicality and the look of yellow fog lights, you may have search drastically for a way to obtain such a perfect yellow output found on many Lexus cars. Sure you can get close by using an old set of Hella Yellowstars, but the new ones are just crumby quality. You can go with the Philips All-weather but they just not as intense.

If you look at the link above, you find that the Lexus guys have the component we need in order to get that beautiful yellow beam. Look at the pictures and read the text to discover that they crack and destroy the very piece we all need...AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGG!!!!!! I'm going to try and get my hands on a set of Lexus fogs and remove the yellow lense and replacing them in my Maxima fogs. I'll keep those interested updated.

Not to sure if you know or not but those fog lights on the IS300 is nothing but a normal bulb with a piece of yellow film over the lense. Nothing special at all about them. Pretty shabby if you ask me. At least this is what I was told from a Lexus dealer when I went in to inquire about obtaining myself a nice set of yellow fogs. I was told not to waste my money when I could have something better by going out and buying the true yellow bulbs. And all this time I thought differently. Oh well.

Its not yellow film, projector fogs use a convex lens and dichroic lensing that gives a yellow amber color.......

Ummm....sounds about right. I knew that I really couldn't trust the Lexus dealer much. Thanks for the lesson.

If you're gonna go through all that trouble, might as well get HIDs on the foglights...even lexus guys can be numb nuts.
