Suspension blues !! 2000 Maxima
Suspension blues !! 2000 Maxima
Recently I changed out the rear struts with a set of Monroe "sensatracs" . Well, I am less than please and ask for opinions on what's happening here. The car has 141,000. Front struts have only 45K on them and are Nissan installed. The rears had 85K and since I am selling soon I decided to go with NTB for a replacement. Figured I would improve the ride before selling, as the car was really hitting hard on the uneven road, bumps etc. before changing these.
After replacing them it hits just as hard and is floating all over the place, cornering is horrible and it pulls to the right etc. The tires are ok but we swapped them front to back etc. I plan on going back and having them look it over but I am bummed. Should I have gone with KYB GR 2's? Do other things need replacing or are these just wrong for the car etc.
Any replys are welcome.
Thanks

Had those on my car for about 20K so far no issues no problems... installation was a breeze everything fit perfect no issues... I remember when I was purchasing those the price was about $45 for both but I guess their price went up...

Monroe's are very soft and hard to control, thus your sloppy yet stiff ride.
KYB's would have done you better, but if you're selling I wouldn't pay to have things done again.
For the pulling - did you get an alignment after the install?
