Not a single chip on it. Having a clear bra probably helps too.

beautiful

I might be getting leather this weekend. But it will be OEM factory leather when you can't afford, you have to settle for less...

I like the plain black look without inserts too.. very nice.

How much does the OEM factory leather cost? Right now my 91 GXE has the factory cloth, which has a billion and one stains on it (eccept for the drivers seat). That leather looks VERY nice. $700 is a lot of money for me, though (savin up to buy a new car, every $.01 counts). I know it may be better quality, but is there any other leather that'll fit my 3rd gen that is a little cheaper. I'm only gonna have the max for another 1/2 year or so,...then my sister will wreck it.

Did you put the leather right on top of the cloth, or did you have to pull the cloth off, then put the leather on?

You have to take of the cloth to put leather like that on. And WOW that looks nice.

Ahh, I thought so. Still, are there any other aftermarket/OEM leather set thingies that aren't $700. About $500 or less would be satisfactory.

If you bought it through the group deal and did not get perforated seats and the install kit it whould have been $60 cheaper. The group deal had a 10% discount, so normaly my seats whould have been an extra $70.

Factory leather costs about $1400, you get climate control though too.

Thanks for the compliments guys!

I actually think the Maxima leather package isn't so bad. First of all, you probably paid near invoice for the package, so it was only about $1350, not the $1499 retail. Second, yes, you do get the auto climate control, which I love. Third, you also get seat memory system and the power passenger seat.

For the $650 extra or so, you do get a decent bit of stuff. I know for some people this is not a good deal, but compared to many manufacturers where the leather ONLY is $1500, this isn't so bad. And the leather on the 2002 is actualy pretty good quality compared to past years.

Also, make sure everything is nice and tight - it looks a little loose around some parts. I had a friend that put leather in an accord and didn't get it all the way tight since he was in a hurry to get it on and see what it looked like. Over time, it stretched and looked even worse due to wrinkles.

That embroidery is sweet.

you know what would look sharp, if you got those SE embroideries on the front seats in a silver/sterling mist-ish color. But still otherwise, looks nice

you guys think they will have that custom leather for the 350Z? My dad ordered a Daytona Blue 2003 Nissan 350Z Track model yesterday, it does not have leather but I was thinking that maybe if he later wnated to add it on, then he could.

I am sure they will have a kit for it available shortly after it's release.

but by foregoing the leather you miss out on other options that require the leather. i like the way those seats look...a lot. the factory leather couldnt be THAT bad. i can live with it.

Drive a TRUE performance car real hard sometime, and you will see why you do not want leather for the seating surfaces. There is a reason why it is not available.

However, the Audi Alcantara has to be the coolest thing I've ever seen/sat on. That stuff is CLASS and holds the butt quite well.

700 is very expensive. I guess you would have to choose which route u want to go. luxury or race when deciding on leather seats.

for leather $700 isnt expensive at all. especially considering you can totally customize it. 2 tone, perforated, embroidery. leather options on new cars are usually around $1000 i think.

I think that leather looks awesome. My peeve with leather on the Max has always been that to get it, you have to buy Bose. I hate bose, and there is no way i'm gonna spend $1100 on a overpriced stereo that I would be taking out immediately anyways, and putting in a real system. Do you think that that custom leather is better than the nissan leather? It looks like those seat covers are a little softer than the OEM. Keep up the good work, and post more pictures.
