anyone keep their Max yet go upscale?

I was curious if anyone here actually went ahead with getting say a 3-Series or ie any Euro sporty car, yet still kept their Maxima also. If so, wondering what the overall experience was, yeas and nays, as far as having more than 1 car as a daily-driver. For example, my cousin kept his Integra and got a Z3 3.0. But that's Acura not Nissan.

I figure we all want to get something more high-performance, whatever. But if your car is paid for, why take the depreciation and trade-in hits if you don't have to.

It'd be great to have the best of both worlds, Germany and Japan. I took a Jetta for a spin and though I don't like the car, as far as handling goes it "feels" much better than the Maxima. Why can't the Maxima put some of that German feel into their offerings? To hear 2k2 owners say loose steering, yikes!!

Haven't done it yet, but when I get my 3, it's going to be a tweaked fair weather car and the Max is going to be the winter salt car.

I kept my '95 Maxima SE and bought a 2000 Infiniti I30t. I use my Maxima, now 7 years old with 184,000 miles, as my daily driver/track toy, and my Infiniti for special occasions, [long] vacation drives, church, etc. Sometimes, it just isn't appropriate to drive up in a loud street racer with a booming stereo, but the Max is pretty clean, and pretty quick. And getting quicker all the time...

I love my Maxima's 5-spd. And I can afford to have some down-time with it when it comes to installing new mods. If I need to have it in the shop for days or weeks, no problem: I just drive the I30t. If I decide to go blow off some steam, though, I'm driving the Maxima.

The I30t is... nice. Leather interior, 227-HP, automagic. It's my old man's car. But it looks good, it handles well (RSB & FSTB), and I can take it anywhere with relative impunity.
