Which came first, the Maxima or the Org?

Just curious, I was a member before I got my Max. How many of you took this route or vise versa?

oh. i thought you were refering to which was first. the org or the car. i was about to slap you in the head for that.

as for me, i found out about the org after getting my max. i found this place only because i was curious to know if there were any maxima related websites for my car. wasn't hit with the mod bug until i learned about the things i can do to the car.

I joined the .Org...

BEFORE I got my Maxima. And I'm glad too, because its a great community that helped me getting started and helps me still today.

I joined Sept 24th and I still don't have my Maxima yet. Not for a lack of trying though. The dealer tells me he should have my 02 by the end of January.

1st came the Max.

in march of 2000, i got a 93 SE and surfed into a "different" 3rd generation site, everyone there was on the org as well, so then I got to the org and this summer the old max was sold and i now drive a 98 gxe.

I was on the Maxima BBS's before the dot.org even existed. Believe it or not, there were four or five message boards before the dot.org that led to what we have today. Those were the days...

I owned the car a long time before I got into the sites... actually the site that inspired me to keep looking for a community and made me really want to mod the car was Jeff K's MegaMax site. I remember looking at that site starting in early 2000 and from there trying to find something like the .org.

Found out about the org a few hours before I picked up my car. Wish I found out about it before because I could have made some buying mistakes although I ended up lucky.

I was a member of several Maxima boards long before I had my Max. I think the only person who was a memeber for longer than me before purchase was Brian Won.

Hehe I remember Brian Won. He is the king of the Ars Technica forums right now. I think the criteria of being called a "moldy oldie" here is to have been included in the AtBBSt stories. You and I definitely qualify.

Yeah, he's a true geek.

I really feel moldy oldie today after puting in my H&R's and Tokicos. Love em.

I was looking for a site about speakers for the car and found a site that belonged to a member here and he had a link to maxima.org so all of my newbie post were mostly in the audio forum

I joined the Org first while I was shopping for a Maxima... of course I'd also been LURKING for months (and months!) before that, trying to learn all I could and drooling over all these sweet pics of other people's 3rd Gens!

I think I found out about the Org while I was looking for detailed info on the Maxima, which sounded to me like a German-like sports sedan with a V6 and stick - exciting stuff to someone driving a beater!

About 2.5-3 months after joining I bought my (non-ticking!) SE 5-speed. I thought about changing my name to something with some car info in it (like "silverbullet"), but decided against it.

My story!

I had a '92 SE for years and loved it. Sold it and bought a '98 SE a few months back. I found this site soon after, drooled over everyone's mods (still do), and now have more inspiration to start putting some mods on mine.

I bought my Maxima years ago and did all of my mods the first week that I had it. Then, it was a year later when I came across Evan's Maxima site, then on to Andi's BBS, and so on. But I've been a member of MBCA for years, in preparation for getting my next car- an E Class.

I bought my Max on Jan 28 2001, and when I found out that I wanted to mod my car, I found the org through custommaxima.com.

I live 10 miles from the plant in Spartanburg,SC. Beemers are a dime a dozen. Driver by a trailer park and see beemers everywhere. Plant workers get some sweet lease deal. Anywhere else in the world though I would like a BMW though.
