Change performance rims/tires in the winter??
That's the thing...I might sell the stock rims/tires, but not if I would need them for winter. I'm not worried bout the snow, I live in Va, just worried that the cold will mess up the tires or somethin. If anyone would be interested in buying a set of 96 GLE rims with gold center caps, great condition, leave a reply.

Be Cool, play it safe.
You're not going to get more than $400. for OEM rims/tires. (if your lucky)
Unless money is not an issue for you. Put the OEM rims back on the car and, your aftermarket rims will be nice and shimy next spring.
But, that's just my 0.2¢

I have decided to get a second set of wheels with winter tires for my Max. The logic goes as follows:
1) I will get improved traction in snow and ice.
and
2) The only cost is the second set of wheels.
There is no negative financial impact to purchasing winter tires. I will be replacing my tires as they wear, so my normal tires last 50% longer if I use the winter tires for 4 months each year. By replacing the 17" tires with 15" winter tires, the net cost is close to the same.
If you have expensive tires, the savings by not running them in the winter may be much more than the cost of the winter tires. Factoring in the hassle with selling your stocks, it may not save you anything to sell them...
