Removing Stillen RSB...Problems

I attempted to remove the Stillen RSB from my 97 GXE this weekend. The top bolts on all of the clamps came off just fine. However, the bottom bolts seem to be frozen in the clamps. The nuts came off fine, but the bolts would not budge.

Anyone else have this problem?

Maybe rust eater or WD-40 would lube it up for you. Spray it a few times and try it again.

Nope. I drilled through one of them...its like the bolt bonded with the bracket. Its not just the head that's stuck, the entire thing is.

I figure I'll take a torch to them next weekend, but it was bugging the hell out of me this weekend.

ill bet anything the bolt bonded with the aluminum bracket.
sounds like you will have to drill out them bolts or cut of the brackets. The guy i bought my Stillen RSB from had to get the bolts cut off too. Took me a full day of drilling and pounding to get the rest of the cut bolts from the brackets. I went out and bought beefier bolts, i belive they were rated #8 2nd strongest out there or something, lol. Plus the holes had to be drilled out for the bigger bolts.

goodluck!

Yeah, that sounds just like my problem. I did drill one of them, but it was a real pain in the azz. Guess I'll have to do that with the other three.

Thanks.
