04 maxima

when i turn on my headlamps the dashlights go out. All gauges work but no ilumination of gauges. any ideas where to start?
Also the trans shifter center console light stays on all the time and drains the battery. even with the key out of ignition. any ideas an this one also?

Your dash lights control is on the far left, I'm sure it's on off for night and on for day. Turn on your headlights and adjust the button that has what looks like a speedometer with a needle

i will check the dimmer switch. This issue started after i replaced the evap core and expansion valve for the A/C system. what a chore getting to those.

i checked the dimmer switch and it is connected. i checked all the grounds and electricial connections under the dash also = everything is good. I talked with a dealer in boulder and they said that the BCM OR ECM may need to be reflashed. the dimmer switch ramps up and down with volt meter.
