New Nissan clutch in, lightened stock flywheel in and new flanges for the RT cat in. Stock flywheel is only 19lbs. Tey shaved/balanced the flywheel/pressure plate together. I put the flywheel back on the scale and they took off 3 lbs. Not a whole lot but it adds up I guess. Once I got the proper RT cat flanges installed(BTW ball socket type flanges are far superior than the crap stock RT flanges or even flat flanges. No gaskets needed w/ this set-up. I recommend this if anyone is getting custom stuff done. Car has it's lowend back(from leaky exhaust flanges) and seems to rev faster w/ the lighter flywheel. Tranny work is almost easy now. The cost of lightening/resufacing/balancing the flywheel and pressure plate was about $160.

Sorta hard to explain. I didn't take photos becuase I ran outa film. Plus judging by the pathetic response to this post, no one wouldn't know a good thing if it hit them in the face anyway. If I take a pic, I'll email what it looks like Brian.

Actually not many realize how complex it is to do this type of work. Believe me I have a good idea. How about you fly down to houston and help me pull my engine/tranny . Hell we could do my SE-R clutch at the sametime .

Sure Nismo! I'll undo the top bolts and you handle the underside. Heh, that's how me and my bro work. We've done it so many times now, we barely even have to talk to each other. BTW your right about the seal puller. There is a special tool(parts guy at Nissan showed me) Could have saved me alot of headache. Do me a favor, if you take the flywheel off, weigh it for me.

Her's an assembled pic for the ball socket. This pic is a Pacesetter header though. (duh) but you get the idea. No gaskets. The upper portion is like a ball and the under portion is like a socket that fits over the ball. The the two flanges keep them together.

hey jeff...
3 lbs is a lot on the flywheel... there is a formula out there that I don't recall, but a few lbs = a few hundred pounds on the car... btw (you probably know this) but the effect is different in each gear... meaning the effectiveness gets less with each gear shift...
