I would worry about the effectivness of this kit on slick roads or inclement weather. I can see this powering someone right into the ditch on a road with patches of ice if they don't turn it off.

that might be why it can be turned on or off.... I'll be honest, I would be very interested in getting it if it works well and doesn't cause safety issues.
my guess is it probably detects that the wheel is already spinning and then just helps assist with turning the wheels allowing the engine not to have to work as hard...
