G35 might be more luxorious. I would look into that.

the G35 seems like a much more refined vehicle.. the EVO is just turbo, turbo, turbo.. and AWD. This is going to be locked any second now..

G35 or Altima 3.5SE RWD?

It looks like an Altima from the side. Nissan/Infiniti still look too muck alike. Didn't they state the two makes with have totally different cars in the near future?

So, all the G35 is just a rebadged Skyline sedan. It pumps out 260hp. It's great looking. It weighs 3336lbs which means it's 100lbs heavier than the Max/Altima, SO it means this car is no faster than the Max/Altima even though it has more power. The Max/Altima are also cranking out well above their advertized 246ft/lbs of torque. If I had the money, I'd get the G35. But since I don't, I'll probably be getting a loaded and used 2002 Altima late next year....unless I start making mounds of money

G35 is rwd. combined with the VQ, that definitely makes it worth looking into.

Re: Re: G35 or Altima 3.5SE RWD?

I have read that the G35 shares it's platform with the 350Z. Does that mean we can anticipate such things as shocks, springs, engine mods, STS, etc pretty rapidly since the Z car is pretty much a given for aftermarket support whereas a lone G35 probably would have limited support (outside of Nismo)? I'm assuming such things as intakes can be shared with the '02 max--same engine right?

Also, 260hp is a big step up from the 190hp 4th gen. Does that mean insurance will skyrocket?

I think insurance is more concerned with the number of cylinders rather than HP numbers, or am I wrong?

Am I the only one who thinks the G35 is extremely ugly?? that may be one of the ugliest cars i have seen in a while. why does nissan always screw up what seems to be a dynamite car with disappointing looks? for the money, i would take the HP decrease and go with a IS300 5 speed. the lexus looks much better and probably isnt too far behind in performance. im getting very tired with nissan's ugly new car designs. just my .02

I think you need to check the specs man
THEY read or translate to this
0-60 in 5.9 seconds
1/4 mile in 14.6 seconds

THATS WITHOUT ANY MODS

this thing is going to fly and with NISMO commitment to America "this year". We can easily see a warranted 280 hp car with ton's I mean ton's of torque, this ****er is going to fly. I'm alreasdy talking to the wife about taking the 2k2 max so I can get my hands on this thing. of course the down side is they(Infinity) have gone the way of BMW and MERCEDES where everything is an option and by the time you put HID Leather and doors on the thing it will easily be a 35,000 car. Even though it's base is 27100.

THis thing is the perfect combination of power and build. All you little max snobs out there are calling it to "trendy" and a toy car. Well what the **** its the skyline platform it has a drag coefficent of .027 and besides that it moves away from Nissan's huge commitment to the Amercanized CAR" (Iactually hate the design of my maxima ESPECIALLY the taillights but I bought the thing because of its ability if I had the mone to buy a 330CI I would have, but I don't.
Nissan is moving to a more european look (FINALLY) kudos nissan

Wow. I'm actually shocked we can be on total opposite ends of the spectrum. I like the G35. A lot. To me, it's the best looking Nissan ever, short of the new Z. Straight out of the pininfarina almost...

your know what i've been thinking about to kill this theory. how are all the people with 2k2's getting WAY better track than anyone with a 2k1 or 2k. like at least .5 seconds better then the BEST stick time stock and the auto's i won't even get into that from, as DAVEB would say 18 or so more HP. it's not possible.
