What's your tire brand?
What's your tire brand?
Most people will maintain the tire brand fitted by their cars' manufacturers. Have you changed yours? and from what to what?
Ok, am a culprit...I have maintained the Michelin brand and have no intentions of changing it whatsoever
Let's hear your stories...

When I got the car they had "maypops" on them so I needed tires badly. Got a full set of Nexen N5000 225/50/17. That was 20,000 miles ago and they still look new. I rotate every 6,000 which is recommend by the manufacturer. I have had no issues with these tires, my next set will be the same brand. This is my DD btw.
Yokohama or BfGoodrich is the only rubber I will run. Not cheap but they last and they perform extremely well. I have a set of stock size Yokohama yk580's for sale if anyone comes across this looking for tires. Check my sig and PM me. Plug over lol
I've never paid attention to tires in either one of the cars I've owned previously...86 Accord and 97 Grand Am...but with the Maxima I did. I used to buy the cheapest tires I could find...not anymore.
I love my Continental ExtremeContact DWS all-seasons, especially here in the PacNW where it rains more than a fair amount
The ONLY thing I'm not completely in love with is the soft sidewall sometimes make the tires look a bit flat, but that's just an aesthetic thing and not a functional thing.

My Max used to have Sumitomo, Uniroyal and Diamondback (whatever I was able to afford on a budget). But about 2 years ago, I decided not to go cheap this time and got new Michelin Primacy MXV4s. I smiled ear to ear when I drove from the tire shop back home.
Mine came stock with some pirellis and they lasted a long time and had no road noise at all from what I can remember, handled great, and were good in the rain. Went to discount tire to replace them and they quoted me about $400 a peice, and so I was looking at $1300 for all four and couldnt do that. I got some off brand ones that were just over a $100 a peice and they weren't as good at all. I'll get new ones when I get some rims since I got insurance on those and they replace them for free if they pop or something.
Got my car with a (probably original from 2000) set of Toyo Proxes and I HATED them. Absolutely no grip in the wet and on dry pavement they were only so-so. My friend hates them on his '12 Scion tC as well. So in April I mounted up my (new-to-me) I35 wheels with Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires in 215/50/17 and couldn't be happier. So much better grip and we'll see how snow is in the upcoming NJ winter
235/45/17 Continental ExtremeContact DWS. Got to drive up into the snow on Sunday and well I had 0 problems driving on the highway doing 35-45 mph. No trouble slowing down gradually either. Felt the ABS kick in obviously but still a controlled feeling. Steering was also pretty easy for being on fresh snow/slush but no the packed snow/ice.
Went downhill on the highway and got tired of everyone tapping their brakes so I popped into the middle lane and hit 55 mph. No signs of trouble at all, I was able to steer and slow down as needed again in the fresh snow/slush.
Also had some standing water on the highway and I did not get the 'scary' hydroplane feeling where steering input produces no change in vehicle direction.
Think I am comfortable in saying "Bring on the low land snow" :haha:

Brdigestone Potenza RE970AS Pole Postion - best tire out imo.
Used to run Continental Extreme Contact DWS, but I think the RE970AS's perform slightly better throughout the season. Tread is a tad softer too, and the 970's look much more aggressive.

-edit, search first then post after removing keyboard from mouth.
Tire rack did test the Bridgestone 970 Pole Position, link http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...y.jsp?ttid=147
And the Continental DWS scored higher. However that review is almost pointless considering the test vehicle. 2011 BMW E92 328i Coupe which is no Maxima.
