My new 2013 Maxima

Just picked it up today. 2013 Nissan Maxima with Sport and Tech packages. It was bittersweet today. Whoo hoo I got a new car!!! But damn! I traded in my Charger. I loved that car, but couldn't get past the mental block I had that she had been wrecked.

Will get better pics. You cannot really tell the Crimson Black color as it is dusk here now. Will need to wait until the sun is out.

woohoooo, congrats, congratulations on your new car, it was a good choice, the same like the one I showed you but instead of white you got black. Any pics of the inside? anyway enjoy your new Maxima, you got a really nice looking car there.

Thanks.... I'll post some pics of the interior when the sun is out. It's dark here now and is supposed to storm here all day tomorrow. Still somewhat bummed about letting go of my Charger. It'll pass, just got attached to her.

So this is the 7.5gen? Visually all i see different is the rims. Is there any other difference in performance, or interior in the 2013? Congrats

just streamlined some of the options packages and added a couple of aesthetic color changes.

http://nissannews.com/en-US/nissan/u...ng-the-changes

this stuff is always done within 2 model years of the redesign. so look for the max to gain significant changes around 2015 ModYr.

I'll get some better shots of the entire car once it clears off here and teh sun comes back out. It is raining now and is supposed to storm pretty much all day.

Only the one rear shot (for now) when she was still on the dealer's lot. (the dealer sticker has already been removed... was the first thing to go once I got home)

Thanks everyone.... The dealer sticker I was referring to was the one stuck to the truck lid.

MIA_SHIFT... You should be able to contact the dealer. Most dealerships, regardless of make, have the ability to order a new/replacement window sticker for a couple of years after it is sold new... I also hope you're right about getting over my Charger. I loved that car. Ordered it, babied it, and she still ran like she was new. I just couldn't get past the mental block I had about her being wrecked.

I'll post some better pics once I have her cleaned up again.

Beats the '13 Altima. I hate to think what kind of abomination of a design they are brewing up for the 8th gen.

That's another reason I decided to go ahead and trade as who knows what the next gen Maximas will look like. Maybe good, maybe bad. I like this one, so why wait...

Beautiful car man, good choice on moving away from the Charger. I used to detail cars and Chargers always felt like fleet cars to me. The Maxima was a good choice.

Illumination is only on the front.

That would depend on the model Charger. I can see where the V6s and regular R/Ts would seem like fleet cars, but the R&Ts and SRTs were definitely not your standard run of the mill type vehicles. If Charlize (yes that was my Charger's name) had not gotten hit several months back, I'd still have her. Over 100K miles and she was still running strong. Most people didn't realize she was almost 6 years old when they saw her either. I did take her out the day before I got the Maxima and we smoked the rear tires one more time to say goodbye.

I am still breaking in the Maxima, so I have not done any "spirited" driving in it yet.

It has been overcast and/or raining since I picked up my Maxima. Got it washed and took a couple of more pics this afternoon. The sun kept going in and out. Looks like I may have to wait until we have sone real clear weather to get some good pics to show the crimson metallic. The rear shots came out better due to the glare on the front end.

Nope, I have not gotten a new license plate for it yet. I have been to the Court House 3 times. The first time (Monday), they were closed the day before New Years (note posted on the front door). The second time (Thursday), they closed 3 minutes before I got there. They just started closing at 4:30 PM, instead of 5PM, starting on Jan 1, 2013 (the note on the front door Monday did not mention early closing). The third time (Friday), I went by a satellite office near work and was advised that I had to go to the Court House in the county I lived in, but I could renew my license if I wanted. !#&*%$$%%@#$5#$!!

These cars look pretty sweet. I don't follow Maxima much any more, but can you confirm they do not come in stick shift at all?

Pretty sure '05 was the last year you could get the manual transmission.

Well I've had the Maxima about a month now, but it still doesn't feel like I'm driving "my car" yet. Don't get me wrong, I like it, but there's just something...

Well if it's already broken in, take it to the track, or take it autocrossing, take it to a meet. Drive it around downtown and go to some nice restaurants, bars, clubs, you gotta drive it to like it. Take it cruising for some spirited driving on some country road or something, then take some more pics and post them up! hehehe

don't forget to wash and wax it before to long too.

I'm working on the driving it part. I took it easy for the first 1,000 miles to break it in, the same way I have with every new car I have purchased. I have take it for some spirited driving. I don't know what it is yet, something just seems awry.

Honestly, that may be what the issue is. I drove my R&T for 6 years and got used to the nearly 375 HP and 400 lb ft TRQ. I ordered her and had my name on the window sticker. I did take her out the day before I traded her... lit the tires and smoked the h3ll out of them one last time to say goodbye. I miss Charlize... and yes, that was her name.

Congrats. Those 7th gens are really nice. Yes the fwd and less hp differs from the charger so that is what you are probably noticing.
