Newest noob in all the land.

Hello hello. I just bought a 2000 Maxima SE tonight for 3500 bones. First time ever owning one of these things. So I figured the first thing I should do is start modding the hell out of it lol.

So, the car:
3.0 V6
Autotragic
Leather Seats
Bose System
Sunroof
All Power Everything!!
16inch stockers with new meats on them

It has 153k on it and runs like a top. The only issues I have are the gas gauge reads only at a quarter of a tank for some reason, and the windows are getting slow. Thankfully I got a small little warranty with it. I just pay for parts and the shop fixes it for free, so I should have everything squared away by the end of this week. No pictures yet, I will upload some tomorrow. good to see a strong following with these cars and an active forum. I grew up with mustangs so brand loyalty like this goes a long way for me when thinking of a new car.

come to think of it, you guys might know my buddy Fernando. He rolled in a 94 Maxima with grand marquis wheels until he crashed it recently.

Right now, the plan is getting everything nice and fixed. I got some codes popping up that need addressing. Probably going to cost around 600 bucks to fix But I need to tint the windows, lower it (it needs new struts anyway so good excuse ) and new head unit so I can use my iPod.

good start...I'll be doing tint this spring hopefully... Damn fishbowl right now lol Think about Subframe Collars and a grounding kit (both sold here on the org)...subframe collars to help suspension over bumps and overall ride quality, and grounding kit to help with the electronics.

do a grounding kit it should help your window problems and bring alot of benefits to the older 5th gen.

your P0430 is likely bad PRE-cats...not the main one. Double check that though.

Is your car Cali spec or Fed spec (3 O2 sensors or 4)? If FED (3 O2 sensors) you can get an aftermarket Y pipe that eliminates the pre-cats, no problems. If Cali spec exhaust (4 O2 sensors) you can get a Y that eliminates ONE pre-cat...you'll have to cut or replace the other.

edit -

Spark plug Anti-foulers or O2 simulator should help. Get that 0430 code cleared and see if it comes back.

damn, they got you for a warranty, and you still have to buy parts? and only the labor is covered? sounds terrible.

Gas mileage is a helluva lot better lol! So far so good. I got some quirks I need to address immediately but overall a strong ride.
