A'pexi S-AFC question

Just want to see what the highest NE-Point you guys have in your setting.

Did you use 6500 rpm or 7000 rpm? What happens if you have it set at 6500 rpm and your revs go over that point? Will there be no fuel or will the stock fuel mapping take over?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

2K-2k1 autos can't rev past 6000 if they let the car automatically shift.

I have gotten to 67XX (letting the car shift by itself). I still have it in my A'pexi Rev/Speed Meter.

Re: A'pexi S-AFC question

It doesn't matter what you set the highest NE point to. If you read the manual for the S-AFC (the English translated one available on the APEXi website), the S-AFC maintains the same adjustment for any rpms beyond the last NE point as the last NE point. In other words, if you choose 6500 rpms as the last NE point and have a setting of 10% at that rpm, then the S-AFC will maintain 10% for any rpm past 6500. If you choose a last NE point beyond the capability of the engine, then the S-AFC simply applies a linear extrapolation between the two rpms and computes what the adjustment should be at the in-between rpm. In other words, if your last NE point is 7000 rpm and the setting there 20%, and the previous NE point is 6000 rpm and the setting there 10%, then at 6500 rpm, the S-AFC will compute the setting to be 15%. The S-AFC does this for ALL "in-between" rpms. Also, the S-AFC assumes 0 change at 0 rpm and applies an extrapolation for any rpms between 0 rpm and the first NE point.

Got it?

The ECU will relearn itself if that's what you're talking about. I'm trying Keven's workaround (39% lo-throttle, 40% hi-throttle).

Wonder if you could pull a Sprite and put the ECU on a switch (on maybe the power wire), like power it off or reset it when you want to? I know that's what the Prelude people do to get around their OBD2 relearn.

Worse comes to worse, just reset the ECU every month.

Sort of but in a bad way. If I get what they whree saying apreartly, somtime, not all but some, the ecu learns what the afc is tricking it to do and resets the afc back to zero, causing it to not do anything.

What I like about the haltech e6k is that it is a new ecu that you program your self. I like that but thats me just telling you what ive heard.
