I've heard that the PIAA ION fogs are only yellow on pavement and white when you look at them straigh on. ispeed has pics on his website that show this.

I've thought about those for fogs .. I think yellow fogs look pretty cool paired with a good matching set of corners/headlights. Didn't know PIAA made the yellow ones.

JDM stands for "Japanese Domestic Market"

The bulbs produced for the JDM market are identical to the ones you receive when you order PIAA in the USA.

-Just so there's no confusion. They're the same thing. see the part # I referenced in my earlier post.

True - but there's a *very* slight tint of blue/purple straight-on & as you move to the side of the car from the center, it emits yellow from the sides. Very cool looking effect.

And yes, the light in front of the car on the road appears yellow from the driver's perspective.

10 out of 10 stars for me. I've been very happy w/ these lights. Also, because they are clearly auxiliary lights (& not high-beams) because of the color, I no longer get high-beamed when using them to improve visibility during normal driving (like I did [all the f'n time!] with the OEM 55w white H3's)

(Check your laws on the use of fogs - some states' laws prohibit their use during conditions not defined as "impaired visibility." Some .org members have actually been cited)

The nice thing about these lights is the color is somewhat ambiguous from the non-occupant's perspective, so it might be more difficult for "Smokey" to determine you're running "fogs" at the wrong time vs. those who run more traditional "yellow" fogs.

My .02 cents

I thought the same thing... but many people have told me differently. If you look at the pics of the people with the US ones they're very white, as apposed to the pics of seen of others... and they claim they have the JDM ones and they're different.

Hmm. . .Mine don't look like either of the pics posted, but I'm also in a 1995 SE. Not sure if the reflector design, lense should affect the color output though. When I get pics at some point, I'll be sure to post.

Mine are neither as "yellow" nor as "white" as the other's pictured. Lighting is difficult to capture accurately on film of course - we all know that. Plus, it's not very scientific - different films, different cameras, different lighting, different cars, etc.

Low-light compositions are especially difficult when it comes to color accuracy, too, so maybe some of these variables (at least partially) account for some of the variance.

Plus, you never know who's done what to images, digitally.

All I can say is that my lights look nothing like (looking @ the cars, not the beam pattern) either of those photos in person. -Much better in person.
