'Beaten' by a Neon

On my way home with a stack of pizzas in my car this Neon with a 16y/o kid at the wheel. I'm just chillin' looking forward to an extra-large pepperoni & sausage with extra cheese...

This kid is looking over and revving and his 4-banger 2.0 (prolly auto!) is begging me to race. But I don't feel like racing.

I decided that instead of whupping him, it would be even more fun to mess with his head. When the light went green I spun out for a few seconds, then just kept about a half carlength behind him until he managed to sneak through the next light and I purposely stopped at the red.

The funny thing is, he's going home convinced he beat a 5spd Max. (I mad sure he knows it's a 5spd by exaggerating the shifts) He's probably bragging to all his friends. Poor kid.

Sounds like a riceboy. Did he have a "Powered by Neons" sticker on the back?

I'm not gonna get a maxima, but when I get my moms 96 honda accord, one of the first things I'm gonna do is get an undercar neon light kit so it glows blue. Its gonna be cool. But I dont want to be much of a ricer, any steps I can take to prevent me from turning into a ricer?

Also, I know getting your moms car isnt exactly a good start to not being a ricer, but I cant help that, too young to afford a 8k+ priced car.

BEFORE you get the neon kit invest in an intake, strut bars, headers, and possible a chip. I realize its a lot but a stock car with a neon kit IS the definition of rice.

I admit it - the 2.0 quad-poppa Whupped my slow limey ***.

If ONLY I had a car as powerful with as much chassis-twisting TORK as the Neon.

Watch out for the 2003 Neon/SRT..........

Looks like dodge is trying to show some muscle....

First seen - briefly -- at the Los Angeles auto show, Dodge's Neon SRT-4 is a production-ready racecar that threatens to stake a serious claim in the sport compact market. Priced just under $20,000, the SRT-4 boasts a 2.4-liter/205-horsepower turbocharged engine. Dodge claims a musclecar-worthy 5.9-second 0-60 mph time! Power is not all at the high-end, either, with 220 lb-ft of torque available at 2000 rpm. A complete package, the SRT-4 features aggressive fascias, dramatic spoiler, sport suspension, 17-inch wheels, large brakes, six-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo, leather Viper-style bucket seats, three-spoke steering wheel, power amenities, and air conditioning

Its a 96 Accord EX. Well the first thing I am going to do, very soon is get clear headlights and sidemarkers, but I'm not going to touch the rear lights. I've seen strut bars very cheap for 5th gen Honda Accords, $20-$30, so I am afraid they may not fit right, or bend easily or something, but then again, a strut bar is a strut bar. As for anything messing with the exhaust on the car, I really have to resarch before I do anything, NJ can be a b*tch when it comes to emissions. Oh well, I post on a bunch of accord forums so I can get all my info from there. Heh, its funny I never see people talk about rice much on honda forums

Looks a LOT like the older model eclipses...Except more girly. 5.9 0-60 in a neon! geeze. Actually my friend has the newest sporty one with a 5spd and its not that slow. It creams my Auto VG (which def doesn't say much) but I bet it could run with some VE's/30VQ's

thats just wrong letting him win. Whenever I drove my dads max(manual), I would race my friends caddy. I would kill him off the line and through first and second gear but to boost his confidence, I would shift from second to fifth and let him beat me. I did this for about 3 races and then finally just smoked him. He was trying to tell me that he didn't get a good start on that one and thats why I beat him,

I'm not flamin or anything, but why are you here cscuderi? I'm not implying that you shouldn't, but if you don't have a maxima and aren't gonna get one, how/why'd you wander over here? I'm not sayin you should leave, I just figure you'd find more info on the accord in an accord forum.

I'm gonna get flamed for this. I really am. Well, I'll just curl up in a fetal position and take it.

Nice charity race...

What's funny about this, is when he goes against another Maxima and they blow his doors off he's going to wonder what the hel! happened...

For those who were at Maxus last summer, Maximas ran against Neons. They look like POS but they did put up half decent N/A numbers

If you don't want to be a ricer, keep the accord clean. 1.5" drop with some nice 17s, and tint, and you'll have a nice looking ride. And NO STICKERS!

Oh yea, this is my first post. I've been a lurker for a long time. I'm going to get a maxima in a few months when I graduate from college, so please no newbie flames! I plan on looking for a nice 4th gen 5 spd for under 10k (so I can afford it).

Nice to finally meet you Mr. "The Robot". I never posted before because I'm afraid you would force me to drink sprite!

That's pretty cheap, I've been checking some out on autotrader.com and found a few nice ones in NJ and NY (I'm from PA)... All of which I can't afford yet!

Stupid server, I wrote this whole long post about why I am posting here, and the damn forums lost it. Now I have to write it all over again, ok...

My dad first owned a 4th gen maxima, and now owns a 2k I30. I have always been a fan of maximas, and always wanted to own one. So now that I can start driving soon, I wanted to get one, but my parents said no, you can drive the accord. So I am stuck with this car. I am a real maxima fan, and would do anything to own one, but my parents won't let me get one. They keep telling me to wait till I really need a car, like in or after college. So, I am stuck with the accord. But oneday, I will own my max, hopefully a 2k or 2k1.

And thats the deal I am in, I want to own a max, im a big max fan, but the closest thing I have to a max is looking at my dads I30 that he doesnt let anyone touch.
