94 or 95?

Which year would you guys buy? I think I like how 3rd Gens look better, but I dunno which one is better overall, and that's what's most important to me.. I could also buy a 97 if you guys think there's a significant difference between 97s and 95-96s as I figure I'll be able to sell this eldorado for at least 8500 since I've seen other ones listed in Autotrader for 11-13k (I'm gonna price mine lower for quick sale)

pick 94 or 97. The 97 version is a lot safer than the 95, the 95 got horrible crash test ratings.

i would rather get the 4th gen over the 3rd gen... The only differences between 95&95 and the 97+ are the bumpers, headlight and tail lights.......interior is pretty much the same except for the clock

VE!!!!!!!!! but I am probably on of the few Third gen owners that prefer the Fourth gen body. It all depends on what you want. Price, Miles, Ect. I love my 94 but still hate myself for spending 7k on a car with 92,000. However I do enjoy driving the third gen but will be ****ed as I hit 100k on the way to work tommorow

I would get the 4th gen by virtue of the fact that it will probably be more reliable in the long run. And I would also get 97+ due to significantly improved crash ratings compared to 95-96.

I considered a 3rd gen when I shopped (I actually prefer the look better) but after test driving my first one and seeing that they have those dreaded power seatbelts and you have to press a damn button to remove the key from the ignition, it was the last 3rd gen I drove.

As far as looks and handling go, definitely 3rd Gen I think. Our cars have cleaner styling, less wheelgap to deal with, and aren't as mushy in the corners (so I've read). However, all 4th Gens will have 190HP and be slightly faster than a VE (transmissions being equal) if that matters. There's also more variety of mods available for it if you want to go nuts in that department.

But like Lordrandall said....

3rd gens have exhaust studs that break, and the SE's have VTC's that die. Add in the fact that the newest 3rd gen you can get was built 8 years ago, folks who get SE's like to beat on them and you can have a rather expensive restoration/maintenance project. A 4th gen will be much cheaper to maintain. Which almost makes up for its fugly looks.

:o)

I just remembered. You can't get a third gen. Besides having automatic seatbelts, and an ignition button, I beleive they do not have back-light power window switches. 'Nuff said.

You're hilarious bro, I can't believe you would choose a car based on stuff like that.. I mean MAYBE the auto seatbelts (although I liked them) but an IGNITION BUTTON? I didn't even notice that **** after a day or two.. back-light power window switches? LOL.. you're kidding I hope?

LOL, yes and no. I was pretty much kidding about the back-light power window switches (although I really like them) but as for the power seatbelt and having to push a button to get the key out every time you stop the car, I really don't think I could live with that. I can't beleive you didn't notice. It would drive me nuts. O.k., so I'm weird. I never claimed to be normal.

Anyway, wether one would base their purchase decision on these things alone is not the point, I was just trying to help with the original question, 3rd gen or 4th?.

even though people say 95-96 is faster than 97. i like the 97 better anyway and i'm not a big fan on the third gen so i would go for a 97max.
