Need some opinions on the situation I'm in
Around the beginning of May this year i realized my input shaft bearing in my 95 5 speed was going bad and I decided then to save the money necessary to have the repair done instead of waiting until it got worse. I ordered a bearing and seal kit from gttransmissions.com in may and made arrangements with a local Aamco to have work done after the first week of June when i returned from vacation. I drop my car off Thursday June 13th to Aamco and get her back Monday the 17th the total was $750 (450$ for them to rebuild it and 228.75 for the bearing kit) my buddy and i had decided to take my car on a trip to palm beach Florida that Saturday the 22nd of June.
I told him even though i wanted to take my car i didn't feel comfortable that she would make it the whole way down (rear brake caliper had seized up due to the E-brake being left on for 5 days straight and they were original calipers with 137k on them. I replaced the caliber and he also agreed with me that we should probably take one of his parents cars, well his dad didnt like that idea so i drove my max.
Well wouldn't ya know it 900 miles into the trip i pulled off in Darien Georgia into a parking lot to grab some food because we were starving. I did a 3 point turn and while putting her into reverse there was a loud screech and clunk and she was dead in the water. I couldnt put her into any gear except 5th and reverse and when i tried to engage the clutch and give her some gas she would bog down and die, but if i left her in nuetral and engaged the clutch she would move but i couldn't shift at all. Smoke was also coming out from the little boot on top of the trans right at the front (idk what its called but it has something to do with the clutch)
I call AAA and have it towed to Boyd's Transmission in Brunswick, GA and get a call from them on monday (when i was suppose to be drunk in florida) that the transmission physically wont come apart, my clutch is soaked in gear oil, my flywheel has grooves in it the size of the grand canyon, and i need new driver and passenger CV axles. Aamco didnt put the trans case halves back together right and all my gear oil was gone when Boyd's pulled the trans. The total was $2,868.63 so i had all the repairs done and now i went back to Aamco and the guy said that because my boss (we have the same last name but no relation) called him and said do me a favor when rebuilding my transmission he only wants to pay me the $450 he charged me rebuilding it and also tried saying that if would have charged me "by the books" he would have insurances and such to cover stuff like this. I added up all my expenses and such and the total i need from him is around $3,540.00 He is trying to act like i wont win in order to try and scare me off i just know it. He says give him a number that seems fair and he will see what he can do, i have all receipts, an affidavit from the shop in georgia, and pretty much everything else i need to go the distance in court if he doesnt give me what i deserve.
So im looking for some opinions on this situation, anyone dealt with this before? what can i expect to happen? Any input is greatly appreciated. I'm a 21 yr old college student, i can't afford these repairs and had to ask my parents for the money...this sucks.
Thanks .org'ers

Take AAMCO to small claims court if you have to. They will more than likely pay the bill if you threaten to take them to court because it is pretty cut and dry.
No matter what They agreed on the price they still have to do the job correctly.
Good luck....
