Sometimes when I try to start my car - lights come on makes one click but does not start? I will try a few times and then it will start like nothing. Does anyone know ehat would cause this issue? I do not want to get stuck somewhere so need to resolve this issue, please help

Could be a few different causes, 1. starter solenoid going bad, 2. neutral safety switch going bad, 3. starter itself. 4. corrosion on battery terminals (not allowing for a good connection)

To check the neutral safety switch, the next time it happens move your gear selector thru all the gears and put it back in park then see if it starts. The starter can be checked by your local parts store but they probably won't do it on the car. Look at your battery for corrosion on the terminals, if present clean it off, tighten the terminal and you should be good. Hope I got you on the right track.

edit: I'm assuming you have an automatic because the neutral safety switch doesn't exist on manual cars.
(my guess would be battery corrosion)

it possibly a bad battery time for replacement, I would take the battery in to Autozone for a free battery test to confirm the battery condition.

FYI, there is a netural switch on manual, it's on behind the clutch pedal, that looks just like the brake switch.

starter or starter solonoid, pnp switch. I had a one click and i replaced the starter and that took care of the starting problem. If the starter solonoid was bad the car would not be able to click the solonid has to pass an open circuit to click. check with voltage meter.
