Gauges for NOS?

I'm getting the Zex nitrous kit, and I was wondering what gauges should be used? Plus, which company makes gauges that fit the 4th gen?

Plus, where can I find a 35hp nozzle for the Zex kit for cheap? Would I need to use colder plugs for 35shot?

thanks for your help.

Re: Gauges for NOS?

Zex kit doesn't come with any gauges. I would get nitrous pressure atleast. Don't bother with 35hp on a V6. You wouldn't feel a thing. Go with 75 shot aleast.

Is there an electric Nitrous Pressure (with a remote sender) guage so you can mount one in the car without having to run a Nitrous line into the car?

I've got one on the bottle, but would love one in the car too...

what jet to use?

I have a 95 automatic with Don's VB mod and tranny cooler. I have 143,000 miles on it.
So, wouldn't the 35 shot nozzle be the best? I don't want to put too much stress on the tranny.

Where in the exhaust are you supposed to insert the probe for the EGT gauge?
Sprint you recomment the EGT, and pressure gauge? Is the EGT necessary?

I have read the other posts... thanks Sprint.
Learned a lot. I agree with you about having a Forced induction forum.

you won't feel 35 shot.. you won't feel 40 shot.. you will probably feel 50 shot..

You may be right...

http://www.autometer.com/hp/2002_catalog/105/105.html

Part #5774. Doesn't really say if its electric, but it sounds like it.

I got this from that same link

Electric nitrous pressure gauges are perfect for those who would like to avoid using braided steel line.

Sounds like what I'm doing. What Oil? Pressure? Temp?

I'm doing FP & EGT on the pod, and NOS, AF & Oil Pressure under the radio.

i was thinking if your running boost.. Oil Temp might be better? or Oil Pressure? not sure..

i was thinking above the radio.. actually when i get an aftermarket deck.. i am moving it the draw location.. and leaving my stock deck in..

None from Autometer. Even if there is, it will be like $200 instead of $50 for a mechanical one. I have my nitrous pressure gauge on the a-pillar gauge pod. You just have to run a line from the engine. Just read the above threads, looks like autometer just relased one. I can't find any pricing info. It might be expensive.

Don't know which would be better.

Here's a solution. If the molded a-pillar pods come out, put three on the pillar, then you can do both Pressure and Temp.

Damn autometer....

Sure...they couldn't come up with an electrical one last year. Man..it was such a PITA to run the stainless steel braided line to the a-pillar gauge pod.

I have a NOS pressure guage on the bottle right now...and I'm thinking of mounting a mechanical one on my pasthrough so I can just flip the pass through down and check my pressure...stealthy and cheap too!

So, 6 is too much, but 5 isn't?

What you'd need to do is buy nice guages. With Peak recall, etc.

Lots of money though...

full sweep?

Ok...

EVeryone keeps talking about a "full sweep" gauge. what is it?
I was planning on getting a regular mechanical 100psi pressure gauge. Would that have the full sweep?

What guages fit on the A-pillar on the 4th gen max?
thanks.

sure, $10 + shipping. paypal me. sx7r@attbi.com

MikeyMax: full sweep gauge just means the needle has a "full sweep" - meaning it goes across most of the face on gauge. for example:

a half sweep would be like this

I see...thanks.
So, you guys think that a 55 shot on a Maxima with 140,000 miles is ok? or should I go with a 35 shot?

Do you recommend a particular pressure gauge? Blitz? Apex? other?

Re: full sweep?

Are you talking about fuel pressure or nitrous pressure? If you are talking about fuel pressure and planning on mounting a mechanical gauge inside the car. DON'T. Nothing worst than getting into an accident and have gas shooting out of the gauge into your face. Hope you or your passenger is not a smoker.

Are there any companies that make a computer based engine monitoring system which display everything on a dash mounted LCD? My friend was talking about this the other day. He was going to get something like that since he has plans to build his engine internals and go with an SC and NO2 on his Jetta. I am going to be very afraid when he is done with this project.

I was actually talking about the NO2 pressure gauge.
do you know which NO2 gauge fits the A-pillar of the maxima? or are they all universal?
