what can i get for 3000 - 5500 (USD)
What could i get for 3000 - 6000 (USD)? [5th gen and up, automatic]
EDIT: looking for something automatic for my mom (maxima) since we like mine so much. i got my 2002 with 160k miles for 1500 USD.

Totally depends, dude. Location in US, dealer, private party sale, ebay, craigs list, ect... Used car prices are kinda high right now. 5th gens in decent condition with decent miles would go around 5K or more in my area...

Out here in DFW/East Texas, $6k gets you just about any 5th gen or 5.5 that would be for sale based on your requirements. Not sure about where you live, but you should be able to find something. The name of the game is always patience when looking for a used car. Try not to settle.

just whatever you get make sure you check the lower radiator support frame... not sure about the cars down south, but everything here in the salt belt up north is pretty much shot and it will need a replacement. As far a car for your mom I would tend to stay away form the 5.5gen due to the oil burning issues. it only takes one time for her to forget to check the oil level and then boom... you are now looking for an engine.
