new to the forum, just sayn hi

hey every1, im new to this site and forum. i own a 97 maxima. i was thinking about doing a "vip" style build with this car but im not sure yet. not really fond of the heavy negative camber look most people go with. i do however like my car tastefully lowered and modded. i am more familiar with hondas and acuras. this is my first nissan and have read that the engine in my max is really a really solid base as far as dependability and reliability. unfortunately the car is currently a 3 speed automatic. a five speed swap is something im thinking about doing. as you can see i have lost of ideas just need to find a direction. im always open to ideas and info so if you feel like sharing please feel free to do so.

Hey welcome to the forum. By the way your cars a four speed automatic. Fourth gens only come in 4 & 5 speed transmissions.

Unfortunately not. Those clear lens headlights are impossible to find.

Your Maxima has a solid rear beam suspension. The wheels are fixed, lowering it will not effect camber or toe in the rear. If VIP means heavy negative camber, you've bought the wrong car.

A mild drop, descent set of wheels & tires on a clean 4th gen looks tasteful.
Good luck with your purchase. Lots of info on here, search.

Welcome to the board, I hope you'll love the Nissan for years to come. The Maxima you have has a solid beam axle in the rear, so there's no control arms nor independent suspension. Only the 6th and current 7th gen has one, who knows the coming 8th gen will have on.

Welcome.

Check out my suspension thread (see sig) - has all the info you'll need.
(Part #'s will vary since you're a 4th gen.)

Where ya located?
