AIP Electronics Ignition Coils

Anyone ever use these?

http://www.amazon.com/Brand-Ignition...+ignition+coil

They are super cheap, only $25 each. I had a misfire in cyl 6, and have been experiencing random loss of power accompanied by rough idle/stumbling, so I'm thinking of just replacing all 6 coils. I don't think it's injectors, because I replaced them 60K miles ago, and I almost never run anything but Chevron premium.

I have 125K miles right now, is that about how long the coils last?

Thanks in advance for any and all opinions or information.

I don't know man. The 5th Gen Maxima's are pretty finicky with coils. I went with Hitachi's from RockAuto since they are the manufacture for Nissan and they have been going strong for the last 25k miles.

Your call if you want to take the chance. It's a PITA to pull that manifold to get to the rear coils so it may be worth paying the extra $30 a coil (you can find coupon codes online for Rockauto).

Thanks TallTom. Normally I would agree with you, but I plan on trading my car in very soon, so I don't want to spend $300 when I could spend $150. Plus the 90 day warranty should get me through till I get rid of the car. I may not do anything, because the code hasn't come back since I moved the number 6 coil to number 4 and made sure the connections were good. I still feel a tiny bit of stumbling and loss of power at times, and a less than perfect idle, but someone unfamiliar with the car probably wouldn't notice.

Then sell it as is or just buy one or two cheap coils if the SES light returns.

I did not know API has made coils for Maxima. I noticed, when I look at coils in various places, they show a store branded coil and they also show Hitachi coils that is OEM. I am a bit apprehensive about what I buy, usually I like to think they work equally well.

What happened with that coil pack?
Pretty cheap compared to what they want at the parts stores.

How did it work out?
