My 2002 VS a modded 95 5spd Mustang GT
A friend of mine picked up a 95 5spd Mustang GT(58K miles) the other day. Heres what his car has for mods: Intake, 70mm MAFS and TB, ported manifolds, Headers, Dual high flow cats, racing pulleys and wires nad 3.55 gears(I think that's what he said).
So him and another friend said the GT would smoke me...sure, let's run em!
So we went down to the local high way and stoped, then we did the 1, 2 ,3 GO! I pulled about 1/2 a car in first and then another car length in 2nd, he started to slowly, VERY slowly real me in and by the time I hit 95 MPH he was on my rear bumper, we had to cut off becuase of upcoming trafic. He was really SHOCKED I beat him! He always underestimated my max's nad SC I30T . So he asked for a re-match..sure..
We did it again and this time I nailed my launch and I was gone! Pulled almost 3 car's by 85 MPH.
I think my friend needs to add some more mods now, haha. His car had a little better top end, once I switch to 4th and he is still riding out 3rd he pulls on me, but on the low end I eat him up. Also I had a full tank of gas and he was on Empty.

The Stillen one for today, my new intake part should come it tomarrow. I will PM you when it does
I thing the 95 GT's had 225HP and 300 TQ, right? I could look it up but I remember MT did 6.8 0-60 Stock and 138 MPH topspeed(140 with tape). I have raced and beaten other 95ish 5spd GT's before, but this one is quite a bit faster then your typical Stang. Another friend of mine has a 97 5spd GT with a intake, gears and a chip, my 95 walked it.

Nice race. The outcome is pretty much like I thought. I am surprised he was able to reel you in a bit in the topend. A stock 95 GT is good for mid to lower 15s in a fairly skilled drivers hands. They are quite a bit slower than the 93 and below Stangs mostly because of their poorer flowing intake manifold (due to hood restrictions on the redesign) and a gain in weight of 250 lbs. The 95 GT was rated at 215hp and 285tq if I remember right. Your friends mods are decent. The 3.55s definatlely help scoot that 3300lbs of heft copared to the stock 2.73/3.08 gears. The UDPs, headers, and MAF. I hope he did get something bigger than 70mm because that seems too small for the 5.0. Isn't the Maximas MAF a 70mm unit? The cats and wires won't do anything unless they were bad to begin with. An intake doesn't do much unless you by the tuned MAF along with it. I don't know what "ported manifolds" are, but I'm assuming he's talking about a ported lower intake manifold and port match upper manifold which is easy to do. I'd say with his mods, he's probably putting down 200rwhp and 270rwtq. The 5.0s problem is it's short powerband. Power comes on fast, but falls off fast. Almost like a trucks motor. Lots of torque, but little hp. If you friend was to buy some heads, cam, aftermarket intake manifold, and 4.10 gears, he might be able to get into the mid 13s on some ET Streets. The way his car sits right now, he probably could get a low 15. Once he learns to drive it (you said he just got it), he should be able to squeeze out a mid 14 if the conditions are right.
Again, nice race. A few weeks ago I raced my buddies 90 LX hatch with 3.73s, 80mm Pro MAF, advanced timing, headers, and catback. He's run a best of a 14.4. Once from a stop and once from a 15mph roll, we were side by side till 95mph. It was so close neither of us knows who won. I'm happy, he's ****ed.

If he could launch his car better I think he would be good for high 13's, his car is a beast on the highway but he can't get traction for the life of him on the low end. Once he learns to drive his car a little better I may have to watch out for him.
