Ripped Off Possibly

My 82 year old mother had her 1997 Maxima GLE's knock sensor and Evap purge valve replaced about 3 weeks ago. I did not do it for her due to a broken right hand. While RnRing her starter yesterday, I noticed the parts look old, like they have not even been touched. Please advise on how you suggest to proceed in rectifying this matter.. Thank You so much.. Chip

When you have parts replaced you should always tell them you want the old parts back.
Your only choice is your word against theirs now, and they might get nasty. Sorry for the bad luck.

Then if that was the case I bet they charged her as if the parts were new. Like a previous poster stated always ask for your old parts. I hate hearing of shops that take advantage of people. If you find that they did, you should report them to the BBB and tell everyone you know about their unethical behavior.

that's sucks, like most of the .org says you should asked for old parts back, so you know, what you had it was taken off the car while replacing the new one, if it was new part which I would have noticed. The knock sensor will be difficult to see it since it's buried under the intake manifold, the Purge evap is easily to see.
