Just did my first SOLO mod installation

Ok so its only bumper clears who cares right?
Anyway im real lost when it comes to installing stuff on cars but i figured Id give this one a shot since everyone says its so easy.

went to gregs site to get the instructions and finished in about 30 minutes.

The only problem I had was I had no clue how to take off my fender to get my hand in there so instead i just used some ducktape to keep the smaller piece snug and tight.

My question is, the clears came with yellow bulbs which I put in and when I turn on my lights the smaller lens bulb is always lit which totally makes both bulbs look all yellow like it was before. Is it suppose to be like that?

30 minutes!?

That should take like 10 including swapping the bulbs.

I did my first mod install last week too. It was the FTSB. I had a few problems, but you get great satisfaction from doing it yourself.

amazing, take a nice left hand right angle turn a little faster, you will notice its much smoother if u have the bar on right, and yes the lights should only take 10-15 minutes

Actually I got both of them on pretty quick but there was this GAP that was left so i had to struggle to force it in and use double sided tape on the smaller lens to keep it into place. thats the first time ive ever put a tool anywhere near my car.

ha. it only takes us 5th gener 1 min to do both side... pop out, unplug, plug, pop in... hee hee!!!!

Mr. Blank.. next time when you are on a highway exit... take it a little faster..(if weather permit, meaning no snow, rain or ice) you will see it works... on my exit.. I usually can take it at around 40mph without scaring myself.. not I can exit at least 55 mph and still feel I am planted on the ground.

IS it mandatory that you need to tighten it with a torque wrench? because I didnt have one so i used a regular wrench.

yes, if you don't tighten with a torque wrench, you run the risk of shearing the bolts if you tighten it too much...

MrBlank & Jude: A question about your FSTB install >>

Dis you guys notice that there isn't a lot of thread left on the three strut tower studs? After you installed the FSTB, were the nuts completely on the studs, or were they hanging off the top, not fully engaging the studs?

The only question I have is are these the long awaited back ordered DC clears from Greg?? Just curious where you go these lights from??

It was fully on. Unfortunetly, with the courtesy bar on the 99 max one of the bolts won't fit back in so I had to use a hex nut. I torqued all of them with the torque wrench except for those hex nuts.

Yeah, the smaller piece lens bulbs stay on .. at least I think they do. I vaguely remember coz I was driving by this building with bronze tint glass windows and I was checking out my car's reflection as I drove by.

ya they do stay on with the lights, btw if you have chrome wheels, looking at your reflection in anything and everything is like an addiction

Just wait until your doing exhaust mods and stuff like that yourself.

That is when the fun starts.
