Looks like Frankencar intake is the way to go. Steve is doing a great job with it.

I've tested the Franken Intake personally on the 2001 AE and it sounds and feels good. Big thumbs up on the intake.

I agree with the suggestions of the front strut tower brace and rear roll bar. Together they'll run $300+, depending on brand/quality. I have the Stillen RSB, FSTB, & RSTB, and I would highly recommend all of them to you. Good luck.

any performance mods you do. Such as exhaust headers- y pipe, cams, heads s/c anything like that. But the ecu is the last mod you should put on cuz it depends on everything else thats dun.

Re: Re: Re: What mod should I do next??

I would think that ECU would come first if you doing engine mods cuz you wont really feel anything if you just have a stock ECU .

Nope, the ecu stock, is ment for the stock componets. It is believe it or not tund optimumly for a stock car. So as you change peice (typical) exhaust, headers- y pipe, intake,s/c etc. Then you need to change it to compensate for what has been dun. Cuz now you getting more air and exhaust flow. And hopefully you add fuel. Then you change and mod the ecu to remap ignition and fuel. Thats the best way to do it for a max.

Now in the case of an audi. The first thing to do is change the ecu. Reason is cuz they do not have optimum fuel maps and ignition from the factory. Plus some of there upgrade chips are adjustable. So as you do other things you can change the ecu. With the max unless you get the haltech e6k, all you have is a pre set piggy back unit.

FSTB - www.procarparts.com - around $50 shipped

RSB - www.custommaxima.com - $115 + shipping

You can even have over a hundred bucks left to play with.

Amber looks good on your car anyways, i agree with the handling mods, you already have an intake might as well spend it on other items such as the RSB, FSTB and what no.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: What mod should I do next??

The reason why you do all the mods to your intake and exhaust is to trick the computer but by the way the stock ECU is design this is questionable .
