Life of fiberglass?

is there a life expectancy for fiberglass? is there a length of time where it begins to disentegrate and become weak and brittle?

Not really, as long as it's not continuously stressed over a period of time, it should be fine. It's not like urethane body kits that can sag over time.

Fiberglass lasts for decades if taken care of properly. Take surfboards for example. The foam core of a surfboard is coated with layers of fiberglass and resin that form it's outer shell. This shell is what allows the foam to hold it's shape while under all kinds of pressure from waves, body weight....all kinds of crap. It's good stuff.

My friend had a Blitz fiberglass front end on his Eclipse for months until he scraped over some rough railroad tracks and got a small crack. It grew pretty quick and he's since replaced the front end with Urethane cause he wants to drive it on the street more.
