L24E - Notched Cylinder Bores?

Hello, brand new person here. I actually have a 280Z, but the L24E L6 engine is a fairly hot topic in the Z world since some people swap the Maxima L24E head on to their L engines.

A question that's come up recently is about the need to notch the top of the bore for valve clearance on an L24 in order to use the Maxima head. Apparently in Europe and Australia the heads are notched at the factory. At least that's what the only two pictures and posts I've been able find on the whole of the internet imply. I can't find a single reference to a US L24E bore anywhere.

Someone here must know what the top of the bore on a factory stock US model L24E looks like. Does anyone have a picture or two?

And, as a contribution to someone who might need some parts - there's a 1982 Maxima in the Vancouver, WA Pick n Pull yard. Im pondering getting over there and pulling the head just to see for myself.

I'm in the process of replacing the head gasket in my '84 maxima and was just looking at that on the weekend.

The L24 block is actually notched on the exhaust valve side of each cylinder.
